Thank you for sharing your experience with your biometrics appointment. Mine is scheduled for this Friday. Luckily USCIS office in my city is about 10 minutes drive from here. I'll make sure to have my phone turned off!

Lucky you. 👍

It's normally a 30 minutes drive to Atlanta but under the circumstances of the collapsed bridge AND morning traffic it took 90 minutes. 🙈

Today I had my Biometrics appointment at the ASC in Atlanta.

My Biometrics appointment was scheduled for 9 am today. The appointment itself went smooth. I was done in about 10 minutes.

The only thing that I didn't like was that it took my Lyft almost 1,5 hours(because of the bridge collapse on the I-85)  to get from my apartment to the ASC (we arrived at 9.33am and I left the apartment at 8.05am). I thought that I would get in trouble for that because I didn't make it in time for the appointment but I was fine. The officer didn't say anything.

You are allowed to bring your purse and your phone inside but your phone must be turned off.

It was a nice experience. The staff was very friendly.

Nice one

InfoPass updates:

They said it's normal that the A-number is different now because his previous one was for a non immigrant EAD

He didn't know why we got an RFIE, said the officer who saw the shenasnameh must not have known that it was the proper Iran birth certificate. He said sending it and the translation, plus printouts from travel.state.gov explaining it is, will be sufficient. We sent it off and it should arrive Thursday to Missouri.

He wouldn't let my husband do his biometrics early because they are transitioning to a new location.

Quick update:

I called USCIS asking about the expedition of my EAD. They said they haven't received any request :o
I requested it over the phone, and will hear from them "in next 5 days".
Does anybody know if they will contact me requesting documents to support my request or only to inform me about the decision? It's sooooo annoying! All of my employment documentation was attached to the letter with request to expedite and now they are claiming they never received it! How are they going to make any decisions if they don't have the paperwork  they need?!

Are you guys narrating the story of my life? :P

I feel the struggle! lol

Just for fun, if you haven't done so before, try reading the lyrics of this song from Tangled called "When Will My Life Begin".

Trust me it will make you smile. Totally familiar with our situation.

I love all things Disney, and tangled is one of my favourites..... :)

Hi guys, I have a question. I am planning to create a new thread about this, but since everyone on this thread is very friendly and knowledgeable, I wanted to ask here first.

Did you prepare/send any evidence of bona-fide marriage from your family members?

I read online that one of the reasons an USCIS officer might reject an AOS application is because he/she thinks a couple's family members aren't supporting/approving their marriage.

Fortunately I was able to meet my husband's mother who lives in the U.S. and take lot of pictures together.

However, because of our schedule and financial reasons, my husband hasn't been able to meet my family who lives in my home country (Japan).

Some of my family members have social media account, but they do not speak/write good English.

Fortunately my husband speaks very good Japanese, but he can't write it very well.

Because of medical & financial reasons, they won't be able to visit us in the U.S..

They are very much aware of our marriage, and very supportive about it.

Below is a list of things I'm thinking that may be a good evidence that 1) my family is supporting our marriage; and 2) we have a good relationship, so I can bring it to my interview if it's required (some of them might sound silly).

- Screenshot of a chat history between my husband and my family.

- Letter from us to my family both in English and Japanese.

- Letter from my family to us and its translation.

- Baby shower gift for my sister with both of our names on a card.

Is there anything else that might help us prove that we have a good relationship with my family and they are supporting our marriage?

I might be overthinking, I don't even know if there is going to be an interview...but I want to be prepared and make sure my application is approved.

Any advice will be appreciated. Thank you!
