It seems your perfect world would have 'guilty until proven innocent' as one of it's tenets then? That falls under number 12 on the '14 points of fascism' list by the way.

How does Allah do on your 14 points?

Blessings be upon him.

Allah again? I know your a bit obsessed with this lately, but why change the subject? You have 3 or 4 other Muslim bashing threads going right now if you want to talk about Allah.

Fourteen points of fascism is not my list. It's been around for years. Perhaps familiarize yourself with it and decide for yourself how Allah does. See how Trump does too while your at it.

Whatever you think of Trump he has some way to go to catch the big boy on the block.

So now it is fascism to question someone's potentially self serving motives?  I for one prefer to get both sides of any story before I form an opinion.  This woman's story may be completely truthful, but until we hear the other side we won't know for sure.  My big issue here is when someone plays the victim card as soon as they experience something uncomfortable we have to automatically believe them.  How many of those stories turn out to be false.  As soon as President Trump signed his first immigration EO, stories popped up immediately depicting victims.  One was a Detroit area resident who blamed the EO for the death of his mother since she was impacted by the travel ban and couldn't return for medical treatment, turns out she had passed away prior to the EO being signed.  Then there was the Muslim Olympic athlete that said she was subjected to enhanced inspection upon her return to the US, this was true, but it happened while Obama was still in office, so how was this Trump's fault.  USCIS and CBP have a tough job, and since they are not supposed to profile people, individuals sometimes are randomly picked for extra screening.  I highly doubt they interrogated her under hot lights for over two hours, more likely, it was busy in secondary, and she had to wait for further questioning.  She did say she was in a room with a lot of people.

It's the CBP. We'll never hear ''their side'' of he story, so you'll continue to assume she did something wrong until proven otherwise. Imagine for a minute that the CBP DID do something wrong? What then? Do you think a CBP officer never behaves badly or abuses power? It is highly clear that since the EO the CBP have been profiling, and tbh whether it's a written or unwritten rule it's felt like they've been profiling all along anyway. Just now, they seemingly have freedom to do so more aggressively. I will presume you and Boiler have experienced secondary before? Was it a pleasant experience for you? Do you think a frightened elderly person of any social status wouldn't react in a frightened and humiliated way? Would you willingly subject your wives and mothers to it? Have the questioning you've experienced been in an enclosed cell room or was it in an open area? Was it aggressive or accusatory? Were you ever asked questions you felt were pushing the boundary? Did you ever find an officer acting like a jerk? Do you think the CBP shouldn't be held to a standard of fairness or are we always to believe that it's appropriate to be protected when they behave badly? I'm not saying it's wrong to question any of her potential 'motivations' but I don't feel that the CBP should continually be given a free pass on honesty either.

Fortunately, I have never experienced secondary when re-entering the US, but I have experienced it entering Canada, and yes, they did ask some uncomfortable questions.  As I stated in an earlier post, I was turned around, but I didn't leave there feeling like a victim.  The Canadian CBP were just doing their job.  As to profiling, what profile does this Australian author fit?  Sure CBP officers can have bad days, but to immediately blame them from a one sided potentially self-serving story from a semi-famous author is a little bit naive.  What about all the other people going through secondary when she was there?  Was she the only one treated like a criminal?  She said in her story they were treated similarly, but I don't see their names in her story.  As I tell my wife and family, when you come across the border, just follow directions, do what they say and answer all questions truthfully.  One story I read said that CBP thought she had the wrong type of visa which seems to rule out profiling.  Can CBP make mistakes, sure, and from what I read she was issued an apology, too bad she is too much of a victim to forgive them for making a mistake.
