Except for the Great Wall of China, which still stands as a testament to its own failure. The Berlin wall isn't all gone either. There are sections of it spread around the world.

We do have to have secure borders, but a wall won't do it. It's not the principle that is laughable, it's the execution that falls short.

*What do you think happens when people know a door is closing? Run fast and try to get in. (This is me speculating, not a fact)

* Mexico builds great tunnels. the Greatest. You'll see. No one builds tunnels like us. (Many tunnels have been discovered) 

 

It isn't about rights, but common sense. Of course the U.S has every right to protect itself, deny entry, change whatever law or build all the walls they want.

It is impractical, and in my opinion, not useful enough to justify the expense.

I know you are not a radical moonbat. We both travel out of the ditch  me more to the right and you a tad more to the left. 

 

I think when most of us say walL, Trump included we don't necessarily mean a 30 ft high structure all the way across the southern border.  Maybe a wall in some places, maybe more electronic sensors in others with more patrols.  Regardless a much less permeable border combined with policies that punish those that hire them. 

 

Combined with a sensible controllable guest worker/visa path. With zero tolerance for illegals.

What happened to the modern section of the border wall built under Bush? There was high tech monitoring of the heavily used areas.

And let's not forget about the inner border between East and West Germany. The Berlin Wall got most of the press, but the inner border was built shortly after the war ended. And I got on the wall kick in response to OriZ saying that most walls have worked throughout history.
