Field office is most likely the closet one to you. When looking at the data from that office, check to see how many are still waiting before you and see how long the average time between noa-1 and decision. Also keep an eye out on what they are adjusting from. It's not an exact science, but can give you a close idea.

It takes approximately 4-5 months to get an interview in Detroit (which is your local office). However, since you're adjusting from a K1, you might not even be transferred to the local office.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

4/28/16: Interview (approved)

Delayed entry due to work

8/12/16: POE Detroit

First, update your profile to show "filed for: Adjustment of status" so that your posts go to the correct forum.

I-485 applications are all sent to the Chicago Lockbox.  Then go onto the NBC for processing.  If it is determined you require an interview, it is forwarded to your local field office (in your case Detroit) for interview and completion. (see Detroit processing times).   https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processingTimesDisplay.do;jsessionid=abcz9LSN999OU7EThpzOv  for I-485 it states they are working on November 30, 2015.

If you are not selected for interview your card will be issued from the  NBC.  There are no published processing times for the NBC. (that I have found)

There is a big discrepancy between the time found on the forum and the official times given by the USCIS. They will tell you that you are still within the official time window, even though most people here will already have heard something long before. That's just the way it is.

When trying to amuse yourself or pass some time. Use the timelines. When you want to make an official inquiry, you have to wait on the official time frame.

Hope that clears things up for you.

The times posted on USCIS are no good fish at all, and I've found that the VJ data for the Detroit office are very accurate. My interview lined up perfectly with the projected time (+/- 1 week).

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

We filed in June 2016, received an RFE and returned it in August 2016.  Haven't heard anything since so I called USCIS for an inquiry.  Received a letter stating the case is being considered for an interview waiver in Tuscon, AZ.  they couldn't give an exact date of processing time.

We are soo frustrated!!!!

Thanks, we went to appointment and everything went well. We forgot one original birth certificate and a certified copy of my divorce decree. She said it shouldnt be a problem but she had to check with the supervisor. So now we are just waiting again for an answer.

Hi Darren & Rachel,

Congrats. I guess everything will be OK.

You are from Grand Rapids too, right?

My interview scheduled for 2 May at Detroit too.

I would like to ask you about  your experience  how to prepare for interview.

(We both have "certified copy of divorce", ....)

Can you give me a call or your email directly? (there is a option on VJ)

What does mean "PM"?

P.S.

I'd sent to you direct message.

I think this thread is not so important for others and will not continue or close quickly.
