You are correct.  It must be too early or me to be posting.  NOA2 was 5/10. I will edit my post.

help needed from anyone who can confirm the process from here forth for me.

we got our approval confirmation over the phone- 30/05 ...waiting on hard copy in snail mail.

babe has all the paperwork ready to mail to me- i-134, bank letter, employee letter, w2's, pay stubs, pics from our engagement, pics from our engagement party, pics from our engagement photo shoot

i have thus far collected- police certificate , valid passport, complete and save ds-160 form on ceac website, birth certificate, gettin passport pics today.

my questions are:

how long should i wait until i start calling the NVC?

the case number from NVC is needed to do the medical?

where does packet 3 and 4 come in? (im very confused about these two)

all of the documents that i gathered above are needed for the interview only?

i apologize if my questions dont make sense but ive read the timeline on VJ and other websites and im still not too clear, would appreciate much responses from you guys to help piece the mess in my head together lol

i know there are specific processes based on the beneficiary country- i am Trinidadian.

thanks guys for your help thus far :)

How did you complete the DS-160 without a case number from the NVC

After NOA2 I would wait about 2-3 weeks to call NVC and inquire about your case/ask for case number if it has been assigned. After your case number is assigned you will use it to monitor your case location and status on the ceac website and once it shows in transit it is on its way to your embassy. Once it shows ready it means it is ready for you to schedule interview, although some embassy's schedule your interview for you. I would look into your Embassy specific requirements because your medical must be done prior to your interview. Good luck friend.

5/19 NOA2, just called NVC and they haven't received it yet (I wasn't really expecting it to be there, especially with the holiday, but I know everyone says start trying at 2 weeks).  I will call again next Friday.

I would do the same. I think it will probably be there next Friday with a case number assigned. In most cases, it doesn't take long to get the case number assigned once they receive it. You'll hear back soon friend!

you dont need the case number to do the ds 160. your uscis number is what you use. So i completed and saved, i did not submit(valid for 30 days and can also be exported/downloaded and uploaded again if you wish). it is a very lengthy form.

Hello everyone. I've only lurked on here, but just adding my info here in case it helps others: We sent in our application on February 24th. Received the confirmation email on March 6th with tracking number. Checked the tracker today and I see the case as approved...!

I'm so over the moon excited, but pulling for everyone still awaiting approval. What a supportive community. Best of luck.

Thank you!! I figured the "worst" that will happen if I wait a week to call back is that I will already have a case number and maybe it will already be on its way to the embassy.  No point to call everyday!
