It's been 62 days since I submitted my AOS and EAD application to USCIS. I hope to hear something from from them about my EAD soon.

Otherwise I'll submit a service request on day 76 or day 77.

Do I have to call USCIS for the request or do I have the possibility to do it online?

You will need to call. Its better that way and they will provide you a reference number for your records as well. I checked on uscis account yesterday it showed they sent the service request and today it was assigned to an officer and it was completed but the status is still the same. Im wondering if it change right away or it will change tomorrow. Im hoping for a positive result.

AOS 2017:

2/14/2017: Cheque was encashed

2/17/2017: NOA1 hard copies received for AOS, AED and AP via mail.

2/21/2017: Called USCIS to update DOB on AED due to typo error on NOA1 hard copy received.

3/11/2017: DOB updated in AED

3/11/2017: Biometric letter received via mail.

3/21/2017: Biometric scheduled and DONE in York, PA.

Also they messed up the expedite twice where they sent me the email to the wrong address so I could never respond with my job offer wich made me lose the job 😒 Now they finally told me the fax number via phone and the Attention to add with the cover letter. Now it's day 8 after they received my fax and still nothing has changed. It is just frustrating....

Are you attempting to expedite still although you no longer have a job offer? (That's what it sounds like).

I know the wait is very frustrating (for all of us). You have to remember that a request to expedite your EAD is simply a request, they are not required to expedite. Even many people with job offers or other valid reasons that meet the criteria to expedite don't receive one. I was lucky that I successfully expedited mine. You can always call and inquire about the request, does the request show up when you search your EAD case number on the USCIS website? You should be able to see as they progress through service requests.

According to vj processing times they are getting toward the end of January for EADs, so hopefully you hear something soon! Fingers crossed!

When I sent my expedite request the next day it showed submitted request, assigned to officer, and completed on the USCIS website when I tracked my case. I didn't receive any information or changes for a week. I then received a letter to send proof in the mail, I sent proof and got two more updates that it was (again) assigned to an officer and completed. A week later I received my NOA2s and my EAD was approved. I never received an update on my AP but I received an NOA2 for it as well and the card I received is a combo card.

I know you submitted an inquiry and not an expedite, but hang in there a few more days and maybe you'll hear something! The waiting game sucks, but it will come! Hopefully soon!! :)

No it's a new job offer from a different company. Yes both requests show up but I never got an email or mail in the mailbox meanwhile online it shows up as completed. Nothing changed after I sent my proof tho :/ Well yeah hopefully they get their work done soon...

I wonder what made them being so behind with the cases....

Ah okay, I see. Well keep trying. I have heard that they just experienced a larger number of applications from November to January. Plus with the new government taking over in January, it may have caused an additional slow down in case processing.

Have you heard anything since you submitted your last expedite request? Have you sent them your offer letter? Give it a couple days between request completed and giving them a call, just in case they have sent it to the final stages of approval. Mine was completed three days before it got approved, I think it may have been to go over my application for AP.

My case history says a response to my expedite request was sent April 12, but so far I didn't hear anything. In parallel with this expedite request for my EAD I got an RFIE on my AOS, so it is possible that it's related, though I was under the impression that EAD/AP is processed pretty much separately from AOS?

Update on my end: My AOS status just change now to Case Ready for Interview. No RFE, whew! EAD still says case received but I'm optimistic it will also change today.

Current timeline:

July 2019 - filed I-751

August 2020 - filed N400

Sept. 2020 - i-751 status "Case Was Transferred to a New Office". Transferred to NBC.

April 12, 2021 - N400 interview in LA passed (with a pending i-751)

May 20, 2021 - I-751 status changed to Approved and N400 status changed to Oath Will Be Scheduled. 🤩

May 21, 2021 - received a call and email from USCIS Los Angeles with my NOA with my oath schedule.

That's good about the interview update.

But don't get your hopes up about the EAD. According to the most recent timelines, you've still got at least another month to go before you can expect any updates on the EAD.

Yeah, that popped my bubble. I just realize that EAD is processed separately from AOS. Glad I still have an update as I have been checking the USCIS case site multiple times in a day, lol! Thanks.

It's normal. Every case is different. It's important not to compare to individual cases because it'll drive you crazy. Just having like an average timeframe (i.e. EADs for most February filers won't be processed till next month without a request to expedite based on the processing times) is helpful. Don't worry!

EAD/AP: 02/14/17 - 05/26/17 (101 days)

AOS: 02/14/17 - 06/20/17 (126 days)

ROC: 05/19/19 - 04/23/20 (340 days)

N-400: (249 days)

9/13/2020- Application filed online

9/21/2020 - NOA1 received

12/10/2020 - NOA2 biometrics reuse

2/2/2021 - NOA3 N-400 interview scheduled for 3/16/2021

3/8/2021 - NOA4 N-400 interview cancelled

3/15/2021 - NOA5 N-400 interview re-scheduled

4/27/2021 - Interview (approved)

4/28/2021 NOA6 Oath ceremony scheduled

5/20/2021 - Oath ceremony

I wouldn't mind an update even if it says 'Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview'. :D I mean I know it can take forever but...yeah, a status update would be nice.
