Does anyone know if you need to take the USC original birth certificate to the interview?

My husband is taking mine, just in case it's asked for.

We received instructions from the embassy this past week with a list of things we should take to the interview; included in the list was an original birth certificate of the petitioner.

How about the citizenship certificate ? Is that mean the original one is needed on the interview day or just copy ?

Thesmiths2016 in each country the US Embassy/Consulate will determine and advise you of the list of documents (original, photocopies or certified} that you must bring to the interview.

I'm wondering too. My husband is here with me in Jamaica and we weren't sure if he needed to take his birth certificate for the interview so we decided he didn't need to take it, but now we're reading that I need to bring to the interview. We're going to have to arrange for it to be DHL to us.

My case has been "in transit" for 10-11 days already... Is that normal? ?

Also, what's the deal with the petitioner's original birth certificate for the interview? I didn't see anywhere that it is a requirement.

Thanks.
