How long start to finish?

Hi all, 

 

My spouse is British (but also an Egypt national). We received our NOA1 at the end of January; If everything goes well, is it reasonable to expect for him to have the visa within 10 months? Thanks!

This is a silly question people always ask and no one will learn to search. Let me help you.

We can't give you a def time-line. It all depends and varies on so much.

 

Which center you go too,What country,Did you fill the paperwork right,Do you have any red flags,Do you have a previous marriage,Do you not make enough money,Do either of you have a criminal record and a few more.

 

It will take time,a-lot of time. You just gotta go through it.

Thank you. I have searched. With all due respect, I'm new to this site and find the information here and with UCIS a bit overwhelming. I'm also frankly anxious given the new administration about any changes/disruptions that might occur given that my husband's background.

Then there is not much more you can do. Just keep at it and work to be with your loved one.

It is not overwhelming once you get a bit of understanding but i understand it looks like a lot from the outside.

10 months is possible but unlikely.

For Nebraska you're looking at 5 months being optimistic, to 9 months just for I-130 NOA2 on average, plus NVC/Consulte which i'm not sure how much it will take, make it 3-4 months.     Several July and August I-130's form Nebraska are being approved as of now.  So, being optimistic 9 months with no red flags.

Now the good part about your situation is that I've seen a lot of  people either getting sent to Other service centers or transferred from Nebraska to other centers in the past months.  I believe they're trying to balance the terrible workload Nebraska is known for.

no one knows exactly, and with the new administration . who knows whats the will change. 

maybe try to apply from UK instead of Egypt. UK have DCF!? which is kinda faster

I agree with theossmanfamily, it would be better to file for immigration from the UK rather than Egypt. However, their is no real way of knowing if your case will be complete within 10 months. It's worth a shot though. The entire immigration process is long and stressful. Their isn't any real way of knowing if you will get any RFE's or Checklists. We all hope not to get them and many of us do our best to perfectly send in documents, but it happens, so just be mentally prepared for anything. Good luck

10 months is highly optimistic. But as many people have mentioned here it is nearly impossible to give a precise timeline, there are so many factors which come into play including -

• Your nationality
• The service center your application get sent to
• Whether you receive an RFEs or not
• How long it takes to get to the NVC and whether or not your receive any checklists at that stage.
• How backed up your Embassy is (I know for a fact that the Cairo embassy has quite a long queue).

If you take the current average of all timelines on VisaJourney you're looking at 12-14 months. And of course, it's hard to say what impact the new administration and the soon-to-be proposed "extreme" vetting procedure may take. This whole things sucks of course, but there's nothing you can do but be patient.

We are approaching our 2nd wedding anniversary next month.  It has now been a little over two years. Waiting for case to be reaffirmed.  Just as previously noted by others it is waiting game.

That's good, no red flags, and you have been married 6 years already.     Just have your paperwork ready in advance , especially at the NVC part, having it all ready, makes you ahead of the game.

Read the guides and get familiar on what documents are needed.  That will help you so much.

AP is normal for MENA men,  just remember every filing is like a fingerprint, no two cases are the same,. I've seen some get AP, few days, weeks, and even months, & then I've seen MENA men even from Egypt get no AP.     All you can do is give it a try.  Very best wishes on your filing.

Honestly they may be curious as to why you've been married 6 years and haven't done this already with both of ya'll making good money and no previous marriage.


With that said though, just the nationality will add time to it. Expect it to be a while.
