Yeah. Just countries where you lived for at least 1 yeah. I lived in Australia for 11.5 months and did not need a certificate.

Odd that DOS hasn't updated this change on their website. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/family-immigration/nonimmigrant-visa-for-a-fiance-k-1.html

I am sorry - I was not aware that there was a difference between K and CR/IR regarding this requirement? 
From the text you linked it certainly seems like it.

Yeah I have no idea, I haven't kept myself updated with any changes at all since I was done with that process. Not sure why it would differ between the two visas, you'd think if it's 12 months for the spousal visa it'd be the same for the K-1. I just find it odd they haven't updated their website with that change, it's an official source where people will go to read up on the process. Kinda important. 

I don't know what the K-1 checklist looks like that the embassy sends out these days, I assume they have specified in that email what they need.

This is what the P3 checklist says for K-1:

  POLICE CERTIFICATES: Each applicant aged 16 years or over, is required to submit a police certificate from the appropriate judicial or police authorities from the country of the applicant’s nationality or current residence where the applicant has resided for at least six months since attaining the age of sixteen, as well as from all other countries where the applicant has resided for at least one year, or more since attaining the age of sixteen.

 

So he got his Norwegian police certificate, but it doesn't seem like he needs one for England since he was there under a year. He regretfully did tell them he was there a year, but then had to backtrack and explain it technically was 11.5 months. I think this is where the issue is. And don't worry, me and my friend REAMED him for not being prepared for this interview

The email he got said "a consular officer requested to meet with you, and we hope to finalize the application shortly after." My hope is this is just to sort everything out- if he were to get denied or an RFE, they surely wouldn't be asking him to come in to tell him that?

Yes it could very well be the issue. He first said he'd been there for a year, so they asked for a police clearance. Then he all of a sudden said it wasn't a full year, they might think he's trying to hide a criminal past by trying everything to not have to provide a police clearance. His best bet would be to try to get a hold of one asap.

Thanks for your responses @Scandi ! I'm always curious when others don't follow up on outcomes so thankfully I get to say he'll be getting his visa in 2 weeks! He did have to go back to Stockholm for an appt this morning, and basically the only question they asked him was "did you live in London for 1 year" and he said no. That was it. I understand the due diligence the embassy needs to do, and am just so relieved it was that simple.

Yeah figured it had something to do with that London thing. Bet they had to ask him in person so if it turns out he lied they have it on records that he lied to an immigration officer to get immigration benefits. Long trip for something that simple, but it was obviously worth it if it means he gets the visa now. Thanks for the update!

Hi friends. Got my checklist and can schedule an interview but it won't let me because I can't figure out how to pay the visa fee. The ustraveldocs website lets me get to this point but with no "payment screen" that google is telling me should exist. Can anyone help?

I haven't done this in years so I don't remember at all, I think back then we paid via the ceac site and it has probably changed since. Why does it say the receipt number isn't valid? Is it the STK number or is it asking for a payment receipt number?

I’m sorry, I’m no help either but am wondering when the Swedish embassy received your paperwork? They got ours end of July and we haven’t heard anything. You had to wait to set an interview date until the embassy contacted you right?

I got it sorted I just had to wait and they payment page popped up eventually. Yes you can’t schedule an interview until contacted by the embassy. 19th of August is when our case was marked ready at the embassy.

The latest DQ I have seen scheduled for CR1/IR1 interview is now January 2021. Anyone here seen any more recent ones?

I'm from Denmark and finally got an appointment at the U.S Embassy in Stockholm, Sweden in late October! (if anyone is interested the Embassy received our package at the end of April, 2021)

However I have one very puzzling question. Since I need to leave my passport at the embassy (so they can add the visa), and they want me to fill out a "Fraktseddel" to ship my passport back to Denmark.

 

How do I get back to Denmark without my passport??? Do I literally have to take the train from Stockholm and hope there's no border control in Malmö?

Or is there a method of staying in Sweden and getting it in person? Or perhaps have it delivered to a post office in Sweden that I can pick it up at when it's ready? (the checklist specifically says to ship it to your home country though)

Forgive me if I don’t understand European rules correctly, but you don’t have to go through passport control within the EU, correct? So a drivers license should be sufficient? That’s what we are banking on anyway. From what I remember correctly I would only go through passport control upon entering the EU - not at each individual country.
