I don't know if Covid and border closures changed anything in this regard, but I thought you can travel through land borders of Nordic countries with just a valid ID/driver's license from the Nordic country you are a citizen of. Now airlines may of course set different rules altogether, but if you're driving/the train över Öresund, and there indeed is a border control.

When I was in Sweden, I usually kept my passport at home, and since I didn't have a driver's license, I just carried my National Identity Card issued by the Swedish Police with me.

 

Edit: Wow, had no idea, Denmark doesn't issue ID cards as available many other European countries! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_identity_cards_in_the_European_Economic_Area

Edit 2: Interesting. SAS' website in English says "Driving licenses, post-, bank- or tax- cards are not accepted as valid travel documents or proof of identity." (https://www.flysas.com/en/travel-info/passport-id-visa/entry-regulations/), yet the Danish version says: "Nordiske statsborgere behøver ikke have et pas med sig på rejser inden for de nordiske lande – med undtagelse af Svalbard og Island. Du skal imidlertid altid være i stand til at bekræfte din identitet på anmodning." (https://www.sas.dk/rejseinfo/pas-id-visum/indrejsebestemmelser/)

 

Edit again: Okay, never mind, the same information is in the English version of the same page: "Nordic citizens don't need to carry a passport when traveling within the Nordic countries – with the exception of Svalbard and Iceland. However, you must always be able to verify your identity upon request." Very confusing nevertheless.

Okay so a drivers license is fine, he's gonna carry his health card/CPR card too just in case! This was also on the sas website:

Yep, I would contact them just in case (Kontakt os – find dit lokale telefonnummer her | SAS), but then again I am a control freak. 😁

Although Tier 1 customer service reps are known to often give inaccurate information, so who knows, since there doesn't appear to be a national identity card system in Denmark. Or does the embassy in Stockholm give an option to send the passport to them by UPS/Fedex/DHL once you are home? This of course is more expensive and more time-consuming option.

They sent waybill information in the checklist! I don't believe even for Swedish residents they allow pickup options, maybe a covid thing?

K-1 meanwhile seems to be fully back up to speed.

 I thought I saw an IR1 case with DQ March, although not sure where cause I can't find it.

Indeed! Fingers crossed.

 

I have seen 2 cases in March get booked, and also 2 cases in March that are not yet booked. So it should be pretty accurate that invites are currently up to around the very beginning of March DQ in this batch.

Can we use the digital one that is used inside EU?

Question, my wife just got her interview for November, and we are organizing everything, but we cannot find her original birth certificate. We have every other original document from the last 2.5 years we've been waiting. Is there anything we can do? She was born in Thailand in a very rural city, and we have tried to contact her local state office with very little luck. Is there any way we can use a certified copy from an embassy?

Wow looks like K visas are now not back logged at all. Saw a case that got DQed early October get interview for November. Must mean that IR1/CR1 should catchup soon?

K-1s don't get DQed and they schedule their own interviews.

Yes, you are right, wrong terminology. I meant when their case arrived at the embassy compared to when their documents was NVC received. And you can't schedule your interview until your case arrives at the embassy from NVC.
