That was expected. USCIS has cancelled a lot of appointments too, and closed several field offices.

 

US embassy in Sweden, at the bottom of the article:

 

"Our appointments are cancelled effective, Monday, March 16, 2020 and currently until April 30, 2020."

Bummer for us our appointment was April 1st  We haven’t gotten any cancellation email yet though, I guess we can expect one soon maybe

Weird — checked our email and they only said to my husband, to postpone your interview by 14 days basically if you’ve been to a high risk area, have flu-like symptoms, or think you might have been exposed to the virus, no direct cancellation or anything about cancelling interviews at all. We emailed them to ask

Update post:

They replied and my husband’s appointment is unaffected, it seems the cancellations do not apply to spouses of US citizens. Not sure how it affects any K1s though

Yeah that’s what we saw too, so we emailed to ask how we can reschedule but luckily they responded saying his is not cancelled!

I got a slip in the mailbox.

I can confirm that I received a txt and tracking number when the embassy shipped the visa package and it arrived within 12 hours to Gothenburg.

Appointment cancelled! They told us the 16th it was still confirmed but unfortunately the next day they cancelled it, we didn’t see the cancellation email until today

Hey everyone,

 

My wife is Swedish, I'm from the US. I had a question on how long you think Covid-19 might delay processing time? We applied in November, and was hoping to move to the US around Jan-Mar, but my job offer post-graduation has now been rescinded and I will most likely have to return to the states in August upon completion of my MBA. If February were to be ~14 months, should we expect 3 months of additional waiting time? Any other ways for us to move together considering we could be looking at 8 months of being apart? 😕
