A question to Filipino beneficiaries:

Is it possible to complete the medical in one day?

Yes! I did mine for one day. Went to St. Lukes at 4:45 and finished all at 3pm.. Usually they start the vaccination around 2pm. If you will be there too early and you will be on number 1-10 you can finish all by 9am and you can be asked to go back around 2pm. In most cases they will the applicant if they can't do the vaccination and needed more test for validation

Hey everyone!

just a quick question, I would like to know anyone who is in Canada if they could tell me how many photos I have to bring to my medical. I chose dr Lyndon mascarenhas and his website says one photo but on the embassy website and pkt 4 it says 4 photos. I'm confused

well if his website say 1 i would go with that, but you will also need two for the embassy. So at least 3. I think the review is from someone who did the medical in Montreal at Medisys.

I've to add: why are they even doing this new system thing when it doesn't change anything except the embassies will have the petition on a computer?

As @Special_K has informed me in the German thread, it means your case gets to (and is processed by) Frankfurt much quicker after it "leaves" NVC - 2-3 days for electronic vs 7-10 days with courier mail.

We've sent several emails to the NVC since we've received our NOA 2 30 days ago.  They have never responded.

Email is a waste of time, at least it was for us. Speak to them on the phone, and if the agent who picks up the phone can't/wont help you, insist on speaking to a supervisor. You can cite a problem with your case, the options they've told you to try not working, or simply just demand to speak to one.

Ok we call everyday too, lol.  We have never requested a supervisor, but now that it's 30 days since NOA 2 we will start requesting a supervisor.

This wait is killing us.  We thought once we received NOA 2 we were in the clear. Now it's just more pain.

I sent them an email and got a response after almost a month. Emailing them is useless.

Feel your pain personally, it was an agonizing wait for us too. Couldn't believe the incompetence at NVC, way worse than USCIS in my experiences. If you're an electronic case, make sure you're calling the immigrant line and selecting option 5, too. Those people seem to know what they're talking about.

Is there a way to find out if your case is an electronic one? I've called both lines, I cant remember which one is which but the one ending in 0888, I've gotten nice reps, the one in 0700, the lady was irritated that I'm calling so soon after my approval :D

Best place to start is to review the list of embassies/consulates that can handle electronic processing of IR-1/CR-1 and other immigrant visas. It's only these ones that are capable of doing it, and they seem to have just recently started trying to do parts of the K1 process (at these embassies) electronically too. List here: https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/Submit_documents.html

If your embassy or consulate isn't there you're probably not on the electronic list. If it is, and some NVC agents are telling you that they haven't received your case or cant see it (and trust me they will insist on this), try calling the immigrant line and speaking to option 5. They're the people who deal with the electronic cases.

Thank you for the information! The embassy in Bulgaria is not on the list, so I guess we aren't on the electronic processing. The lady I spoke to I believe she was option 5 I pressed and it was for CEAC, she asked when my approval was and then gave me the 6 week speech.. but I probably shouldn't be calling there if we wouldn't be handled electronically.

The other number I called, I press 1 and I get an answer within 5 minutes, both reps I talked to were nice, they didn't ask about my approval date. Maybe I'll stick to calling that number :D

Hi guys!  Is it true that NVC  case number will take up to 6weeks?

our NOA 2 was May 31 2017. I just called NVC and they still dont have my CN. 😢

Not "will", but "may". We got our case number 2 weeks after noa2, and case status was ready 3 days later. I noticed that it's fast in some countries and a bit slow in some. Most people in Canada said theirs took more than 3 weeks.

Yeah indeed, for me it took 40 days...NOA2 May 10th and I got my case number on last Monday. At least it was "ready" on the CEAC tracker...It is annoying, but they will not do anything if you are still within the 6 weeks range. I know how frustrating it is! I am waiting on my packet 4 since Monday, and I am cursing that it is "taking so long". We are all so ready to be done with the whole process. We just need to remember that it is coming to an end, the worst is behind us! Just seems like NVC is slowing down, but in the end if you are at the NVC stage, things will get moving quicker than before!
