RonandJay,

C(31) will give you EAD after your VAWA Self-Petition is approved. C(9) will give you EAD while you are waiting for your VAWA to be adjudicated but there is a catch: you have to apply for I-485 (Adjustment of Status) at the same time as VAWA. My lawyer applied for both just to be safe and I got receipts for both categories.

Thanks Ms Green, I am so glad I am part of this forum. Yourself and Sandranj have helped me out a lot. I sent the amended application today. I pray everything is okay with it. I will update as I go along.

Well every case was different. I just kept calling and opening service requests because I did not receive my biometrics appointment. I am in California. What does your EAD status say?

That kind of makes sense then. I would advise stay put for the next 30 days, If you see no updates on your EAD and AOS then make an infopass appointment and ask what is the status of the applications. Was your spouse a citizen or a resident?

Yes, thank you! I will do the same for you. I started my filing in Pittsburgh and then moved to Detroit. I truly pray for my GC to be approved, because I my first interview didn't go so well.

I would say you qualify as "other" as you clearly are an immigrant. Non-immigrant would be temporary stay under a B/J/F/etc. visa.

Thank you, I felt I should use "other" for now too but wasn't certain, I appreciate your opinion :)

Hello all - it has been a while.  Work permit granted and I am working - (grateful and thankful for this).  I did my biometrics in NOV 2016 and NOV 2016 was also when my i485 status changed to this:On November 4, 2016, we transferred your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number EACXXX, to another USCIS office. That office now has jurisdiction over your case. We sent you a notice that explains why we moved your case.

I made my lawyer call 2 weeks ago and they told him this is normal processing time - is this true?  Am I just being impatient?  i360 was approved but no news on AOS.
