Hey Guys,

My lawyer just called me and said she got my receipts. I didn't see it yet because she was leaving her office already but when I get it on Monday I will let you know exactly what it says. She said my fee waiver (I-912) was accepted.

So here, I can finally start building my timeline:

December 20th - Packet mailed (I-360, I-765, I-485, I-131, I-912);

December 22nd - Vermont received my packet;

February 10th - Notice of Action received by my lawyer's office and fees waived;

TBC... ?

Hey sandra93,

could you please tell me what you used as proof to get the fees waived. I'm planning on doing that as well and need a little help to ensure it gets approved.

Thank you!

Hope953,

I applied for a fee waiver under the condition that my income was below 150% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. My work permit expired in January and so I don't work anymore, but I was working at the time of submitting my application and I used my pay stubs to prove that I didn't make more than 150% of the FPG. They usually want you to submit pay stubs for the past 2 months. There is other conditions you can apply under like:

1) if you receive means tested benefits, or;

2) if you have a financial hardship;

and you can read about them in the instructions for the form I-912. I will link it below:

https://www.uscis.gov/system/files_force/files/form/i-912instr.pdf?download=1

They tell you exactly what kind of documentation they will accept as proof.

Hope this sheds a little little light on the subject,

Sandra

Please does anyone have an idea on how to obtain a local police record? Do I have to contact the police in my new safe area or the police I lived with my abuser? Does it contain upcoming court hearing dates or anything of that sort displayed in it? I'm asking because I'll be going to the family court to obtain a protective order so I've an upcoming court date?

I really don't know whether that will be in it. Thanks

Thanks for the response.

I have my wage verification form and pay stubs but I haven't worked since September , lots of unpaid medical bills as I was pregnant and didn't have insurance. And my baby is ill she has insurance but insurance doesn't cover everything a baby needs. She collects WIC and as do I. And a letter from my therapist office stating that I am seen on a sliding scale, only pay 20 versus the regular $150 per session. Will that be enough?

Cameron3 you CANNOT work without EAD after filing  VAWA, this is a good reason  for you to have your  AOS  denied.

VERMONT  does not adjudicate  inadmissibility, that being said you  can have the VAWA perition approved but  you can have your AOS denied.
