I went for interview cr1 yesterday. Everything went fine and i answered all questions. He went through pictures if us, family. He wa stuck at my simple assualt case and i gave him my Disposition. He also asked for lease and i gave him. He also went through pur taxes and i saw him writing meet requirement on top of that.at the end, he issued me 221 (g) stating that my case need more processing. Then he asked me after i get an email from embassy i need to turn in my old passpot and new passport to the embassy. I dont know if i am refused ot what? It shows adminsitrative processing.

The 221 (g) didn't elaborate or ask for a specific thing? ?

From what I can understand, they'll gonna send you an email soon and that email should ask for something. when you're able to procure that thing then you can submit your passports (old and new). I dunno but for me, them getting your passport is a good sign. when I had my interview and the CO gave me back my passport along with my original documents, I felt sad and thought to myself what could have gone wrong. in the end he took my passport back when I was able to provide a joint sponsor .

Best of luck! I've been waiting for your picture the whole day in the latest approvals. ?

I never got any feeling that he was going to give me 221g. He was very nice. Whatever document he asked i was able to provide him. I think the major hit was my simple assualt case when i was in US with wife while i was visitnh her. I have a feeling he wanted to run a background check because he took my fingerprints during interview. All of the sudden he said i will return your passport to you but once you will get an email from embassy i need to turn in my new passport and old passport ( it has my b1b2 visa) altogether. I asked him if he resfused me he said decision cant be made this time as it needa further processing.

I think it's part of the process to take our fingerprints, they took mine during my interview too. But you could probably be right, they are going to dig that assault case. I hope everything will be fine and receive that email (with good news) from them very soon. :)

In London everyone has their fingerprints taken at the interview. It's probably the same everywhere.

So sorry to hear this... I was waiting all day for good news from you.

Was the assault against your wife or a family member? Or was it a stranger? I'm wondering if they are wanting to look into it further to make sure it is not a domestic violence issue?

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!

;,( yes basically we were celebrating new years eve in downtown and one drunk guy pushed my wife unexpectedly and i pushed him back. Yes earlier cops thought i pushed my wife so they arrested me for domestic voilence but i didnt go to jail all they let me go with a paper to apper on a particular day. After that my lawyer was able to resolve it and bring it down to simple assualt with only $65 fine with no classes or community service.

Yeah i got finger printed three times at the interview. First when i checked in for interview second when i took oath and third when we figured about assualt. He asked me if i have convicted for anything else. I told him i never got in trouble and i have in stayed in US for eights before too. I kinda had that feeling something will go wrong because of the case. He kept all my documents including my lease, my medical, my i864. :( lets see

Most CO plays nice (part of their training) does not mean they

will approve a person. You are in AP, they asked for nothing

because further processiing is to review and see if anything

else may be on disposition and if it falls under moral turpitude,

it wont be long

I got AP for 4 days. but I'm from the Philippines. Just submit on what is needed and you will most likely pass.

I just monitor this https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx but eventually I got Issued.

I got 221g also when they interviewed me here in Singapore. But the consulate told me just complete the 2 missing documents and bring it to aramex together with my passport that's all they say. They never told me also to return for second interview :)

I was interviewed on 23rd November 2016. Co went over basic questions and i answered them all. I had a simple assualt case when i was visiting my wife. There was no jail time only $65 fine i had to pay. So Co brought question about that case and he already had the dispostion from NVC. He also asked about the pamplet i was given while interview about domestic violence and asked my to call on menioned number if i am in trouble. At the end he handed iver me 221g which states that my case need further processing and i will be contacted by embassy. He specially mentioned to turn in my old passport too when i get an email.

Now its been 2 weeks. And i have seen many updates on ceas.

23rd Nov- interview day

25th nov - date changed

1st dec - date changed

2nd dec- date changed

5th dec - date changed

6th dec- date chaged

Today no updates

Any suggestions whats going in with my case?

Processing and review of all documents and information they have received. This normal and expected. You have many updates which is a good sign as it shows they are actively workig on it. All you can do is wait.
