Hi Everyone, I'm about to mail the I-751 and supporting proof documentation. How should I organize the documents? Should I put all the docs into one folder sorted by paperclips, buy a binder with dividers, separate the docs into multiple folders etc????

Also, I was told to include joint bank account details - if I provide this going back to January 2015 (all the monthly statements) that's a lot of paper - is this really necessary? Thanks.

~Inquiry about I-751 submission~

(mod hat off)

Welcome to the forum.

The good questions that you ask are frequent topics of discussion at the ROC Forum. Check out a couple of pages of prior postings. you will likely find good responses to your questions, and likely much more.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

USCIS recommends using acco fasteners at the top of the packet and placing small sticky notes at the bottom of the packet. Our packet was maybe twice the size of yours, we mailed it in a box.

I separated everything into these things: http://i01.i.aliimg.com/img/pb/966/641/416/416641966_239.jpg

For things like bank statements, insurance renewals, etc, I paperclipped each month together if there was more than one sheet.

I stuck post-it notes on to each plastic sheet just to explain what was inside.

Then I dumped them all in a huge bubblewrapped envelope and sent it to USCIS. They can do what they want with the papers.

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

This is how I sent ours:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/615415-i-751-november-2016-filers/page-1#entry8367611

Also attaching another pic to see how all pages are bundled together.

I would say better safe than sorry! Send what you have, from inception of the marriage to present. For the bank account details, I sent every other month.

Just separate your materials into coherent sections with a cover sheet that's also got your name and number on it, with a simple heading as to what the reviewer is going to see in that section. Clip together with a mini binder clip at the top. Keep it simple.

Our packet weighed in at 4 pounds, 1 ounce (just a pound less than my baby's newborn weight lol). I printed out every single bank statement from August 2014 - May 2016. I went into overkill, honestly. Auto/home policies from 2014-2016, every joint utility bill 2014-2016, etc.

The reason they want joint bank account statements is evidence of co-mingling of finances. Things like that hold a lot more weight than affidavits and plane tickets (we send those in, too).
