So I can 100% recommend this whole calling a person and not waiting for the mail thing...

British citizen applying through Cairo embassy, scan date of 14 November. I called on 23 December, was told my case was complete the day before – so 5 and a half weeks.

Just called now on the off-chance that there might be something – I was told they had just scheduled me an interview for February 1st!

Yayyyyy!!!! Approved!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D I'm so happy .... Finally the wait is over.. I'll add a review based on my wife's interview experience :D

Thanks everyone for ur wishes!

Congratulations!!! :)

Hi all! My interview has been scheduled for January 11th at London consulate! So nervous! I have a question about the affidavit of support form.. I have contacted my lawyer asking for the signed original in ink as that's what it says on the interview confirmation.

However she has advised that the original was sent to nvc..and so a copy will be fine as they have the original. Can anyone give me some input?

She has advised me not to worry about it but if our visa gets denied as I don't have it and need it, I will be rather furious.

Also I have my documents organised in a file with pockets as that's easy for me to access each document.. is that acceptable?

Congratulations on receiving your interview date!

I'm only speaking from personal experience here so don't hold me to it, but...

As I was so worried about this, I took 2 extra original I-184s and 2 extra original I-864as to my interview and they weren't requested from me. They already had our originals from NVC so that was fine for them.

I had so many folders of documents I must have looked rather ridiculous! I put my documents in plastic wallets.

Hello there. I think that will depend to the CO interviewing you. I was panicking 2 weeks before my interview about original AOS and my husband has to fill the same one, sign it and send it to me by FedEx which I received a week before my interview here in Africa. At the end, the CO didnt even ask for it; nor our tax returns plus he only asked me one question and unexpectedly I heard "YOU ARE APPROVED". Have your spouse fill one with same info, sign and courier it to you the fastest way. I would suggest that, you better be safe than being sorry.

All I'm trying to say is that, interview is one smooth process compare to NVC frustrations. You wont even notice that its interview sometimes as they just turn it into chat and before you know; you will be done. Also make sure that you have a copy of each original document that is required as they end up asking for them.

Good luck

Agreed! Better safe than sorry, indeed. I took so many things that I knew they already had from NVC, but just wanted to make sure I had them anyway just in case.

My experience was the same. I took a huge file of stuff with me and most of it never made it out of my bag. I also saw that they wanted an original I-864 and I got into a terrible state over this because I hadn't even made copies of the I-864s that we sent. But they had them from the NVC and I wasn't even asked for copies. I think the London instructions are confusing because they have mixed in the DCF people with the NVC people. The DCF people have to take original I-864s with them to London.
