Well that's because it is not a necessity. A Biblical woman should go into her bedroom and not come out during that time, lest she contaminate others with her sin. After she's done, everything she touched needs to be burned. Just highlighting the Biblical laws of the time.. the ones we're supposedly founded on.

i thought we were supposed to go out in the yard, dig a hole and squat over it for 7 days and until we can be properly bathed and inspected for reentrance..need to reread my handbook.

Are women's razors necessities too? I guess it must be. We wouldn't want the men to freak out seeing us with unsightly hair...

My sister is a converted trad Catholic (she goes to a break-off rebel group of the church which has been condemned by the actual Catholic church, lol), and again, she doesn't do any creepy rituals like what you described...who does this stuff?

P.S. I saw someone say that Pence is Trump's insurance against assassination, ha. Sad but true, Trump looks progressive compared to Pence.

Well a lot of people talk about Judeo-Christianity, but in name only. The truth is early Christianity looked nothing at all like the Christianity of this age, and nor in fact did Puritan Christianity (the true founders that evangelicals mean). But there are hosts of Christians that would like to go back to that type of Christianity. Except they often like to pick and choose what sort of things they'd like to follow. Niddahs and Mikvehs as described in the link is a very real thing, practiced by Jews and Messianics and some Christians alike. It's becoming a little more popular in evangelical circles, because there is a real push to assert the patriarchy. A restoration of sorts. To be fair this sort of practice isn't alone in Christianity or Judaism, it can be found in movements in Islam. Notice a trend? A growing desire to all want to resort a faith to the ''proper way'' it used to be? As Merry says, there's one thing that tends to unite all major religions - and that is the view on women. Chances are your local pastor isn't going to talk about this sort of thing, nor will he tell his flock about the roots and historical context of why Christianity is the way it is. He won't tell you that these type of traditions (with varying degrees) even carried on through the ages in the Catholic church in Europe, shaped some of the Puritan ideal, and he probably won't tell you that these are all contributing factors to how women are treated across the globe (and their backlash) today. But I can tell you it's being taught in Christian textbooks to our youth at this very moment.
