Hey guys!

So I filed my husbands paperwork (I-130, I-485 and I-765) got the NOA today in the mail.

Unfortunately, my step-sons I-130 was returned and they indicate that I must also send in the I-485.

I was under the impression that this was something I could do after the child immigrates here...he's still in Jamaica...any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

The filing address for a stand-alone I-130 is different than the one used if you're filing it together with I-485.

Check still hasn't been cashed. I'm scared I'm going to lose my job. Life is sucking right now. :(

Hi guys! Our aos packet was delivered on Nov 10th and still no Noa1!! The check hasn't been cashed either!!

I'm worried because my husband and i will be moving to Chicago during the first week of Jan and i don't want to miss the biometrics appointment if it's scheduled before we update our new address...which we don't know yet!

Should i try to contact uscis or wait more days? Thanks!

Welcome to Chicago, and second I don't think a call will hurt ! :P

I hope that's the case, being a K1 March filer makes you think of the worst because you never know lol it's so scary until you get a reply!! But thank you for replying it definitely makes me feel better and gives me some hope. I wanted to try and call today just to see if I would get anywhere. Does anyone know what time they answer the phone until?

Hahahaha, March filler humor, i love it :D

Hi everyone! I finally received my receipt numbers via text last night at about 12:30 am!!

We are used to those from the K-1, right ?

Hi all,

Hope you all enjoyed Thanksgiving! We married on November 3rd and send our paperwork November 14th. Not panicking yet but am a little concerned that I have not received any form of NOA1 (will check later to see if check has been cashed). Also, my K1 expires 12/08...if I haven't got NOA1 by then does this make me "out of status" and what Implications does that cause? and one more question: I forgot I had to to change my name on SS card, I will do it later this week...is that a major issue since they probably haven't started to process it yet anyway?

Thanks in advance!

Charlotte

It will not have any implications since you already sent your application.

There is no need to change name on ss card before filing aos. The general guidance is to do it after ead is received.

And congrats to all the updates i'm reading :D this group is starting to move along :)
