If she knows how old the bird is she most likely was hand raised. Works better for you, is she already on pellets? Most breeders start switching them about that age.


They love to be held. The one we moved down her with used to call for his boy and she would sit him him for hours. When he came home from school. Heck I took her to school one year she got her picture taken with him.

Yes they like junk food. I try to avoid salt and sugar. Chocolate is toxic to them so avoid that. There are a few other foods I think avocado is bad too.

Pellets are the way to go to get her eating a proper diet. Seeds are junk food and since these birds can live awhile you want pellets. Plus in the long run they work out to be cheaper since you aren't tossing seed out with the shells.

I do offer seed treat sticks and they millet both are nice treats.
