Thought I'd update as well.... Had my interview at the embassy on Tuesday last week.

Was very simple process. I'd say in total I spent about 30 mins at the embassy.

 

Unfortunatly I am still waiting on my medical to be sent to the embassy, which may take another 2 weeks! They've held my passport and will just send notificaltion once everything they need has been received. In hindsight, I read that some people book their medical as soon as they have got to NVC stage - but its advised to wait until you get an interview date. I'd suggest getting it done earlier!

 

Furthermore, I made a silly mistake and didn't include my middle name in my police record so had to provide a new one! That was sent to them last week. Now just waiting for things to be processed and for the embassy to receive my medical records!

 

Fingers crossed it will be issued in time to get stateside for Thanksgiving!

Hi All,

I just wanted to say THANK YOU for all of your support throughout our journey!

our PD is 10/26/2016. My wife had received her visa and boarded the plane to the US on 10/26/2017.

I actually went and “picked her up” - the POE in Dallas was a breeze and I can’t be more thankful for how things have turned out.

if you are still waiting - Don’t give up!! I know there are moments when you think it will never workout - trust me We’ve been there!! But things will workout when the time is right.

Thanks again! I hope you all will reunite with your loved ones soon.

Interview yesterday November 11, 2017 at Amsterdam General Consulate. Approved!!!

Went so smooth. Only interested in my originals. They didn't look at any more. The NVC packet was on their desk! Except for 27 pictures of time together after I-130 till recently, they did ask for those. Interview, 10 minutes twice, two different officers... Almost an anticlimax. Visa packet next week, by courier!  We celebrated on Hangouts! Flo flew back November 9. So happy we got through this hoop! Getting there!

Hi everyone!!

I am freaking out because my interview is Nov 30th and my husband mailed me our original marriage certificate and his tax forms on October 31st and it still did not arrive. If I just take copies will this affect my interview? I filed a claim with USPS but I am so worried I will not get the documents in time. I emailed the U.S. embassy to notify them and I did not receive a reply yet.

if I was you I will go and take a copy claim with USPS, they will interview you, after interview they will tell you once you send the original marriage certificate and his tax forms you will get you visa, it may not be the same day you send your stiffs in but it may be a few days after they view them.

 

So don't worry and stress over that

I just want to ensure I am not missing a step

My interview is next week. I received an interview time and date.. I dont need to register online anywhere right?

I know I must prepare my originals and copy and medical appointment is done and I have my sealed envelope.

Anything else that needs to be done?

Did people who had their interview at MTL location schedule a passport pick up location? I am trying online but it states my postal code is invalid and wont let me continue

Yes I did to the closest one to my address. Eventhough They didn’t give me visa lol. Goodluck and hope you get it. Please update here

It wouldn't let me. Whenever I type my postal code it states invalid and won't let me pick a province. So frustrating. I guess I have to email them

Did you try adding space in between? Maybe better to contact them.
