Hi everyone,

I saw many people posted the day the Consulate Office in the foreign countries received their cases 3-4 days after it was sent from NVC. I wander how people found out the day Consulate received their cases.

My case was sent by NVC 6 days ago. I tried to call HCM consulate in Vietnam to ask if they receive my case. I tried the number (84-8) 3520-4200 but couldn't get anyone to speak to. I also tried (703) 665-7350 and 1-900-6444 but they didn't help either.

Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.

processing times are never precise and it all depends on the workload of your particular consulate and depends on the time of the year etc.

You get an email and few days later invitation to schedule an interview from consulate with checklist of paperwork and IMBRA pamphlet explaining your rights in case of abuse.

Oh, what a day, what a lovely day!

What Scandi says. If you track it now it probably still says 'In Transit' once it has been received, it will update to 'Ready' and under that you can see the update dates.

Thank you all.

I had my case number from NVC already. I went online and check as Boo&Mica suggested. It show "NO STATUS". I haven't receive any email yet. I guess I have to wait.

By the way, I already went online, filled out the DS-160, paid the fee, scheduled the interview, and called to make the physical examination. (Even I haven't heard anything from the consulate yet).

Hi LionessDeon,

The case creation date on the ceac case status tracker is same as the date my fiancee E-signed and submitted the DS-160 online. (Is that a coincidence?)

That confuses us because we don't know the case creation date was created by my fiancee or created by the consulate.

Thanks everyone,

I've got it. I went back into CEAC website and choose IMMIGRATION VISA and it shows:

Status: READY

Case creation date: 01-Sep-2016

Case modified date: 08-Sep-2016

I know for sure the case creation date is the date the NVC assigned my case number (because I called them that day). I guess the case modified date is the date Consulate received my paper.

I don't know why they classify K-1 as immigration instead of non-immigration. Before, I always selected Non-immigration in the CEAC site, that's why I didn't see anything.

Thank you all.
