No it's allowed to do a service request after day 75. There will be no temporary permit until EAD comes in hand.

I guess it is up to the discretion of the person you are talking to then. I called last week and the rep did not mention anything in regards to this 75 day option. I looked online and confirmed it did exist - I called again this week and the rep told me that because we are so close (day 87) to the deadline that there is really no point in putting in a request because they technically have the 90 days to respond.

Then proceeded to tell me that going over the 90 days CAN happen it depends on the workload/volume of cases. I asked in regards to expediting due to a job offer, which my husband does have. But the rep said that unless I can prove financial hardship, that having a job offer is essentially useless. So again, our only option seems to be to wait until 90 days is up and put in a request to investigate our case.

Was this conversation with the first initial (tier 1) rep or did you ask for a supervisor?

I asked for a Supervisor in my case, granted I had to politely insist a bit after I made the first rep trip himself up on his own words. It's all about language, how to approach and knowing what you can and cannot get accomplished.

For ex, the first rep said the system was down. I asked, the whole entire system is down? He then said, my system is down. I said ok can I speak to someone else who can help? He said I'd have to hang up and call back in. Which I then said so you cannot transfer me at all? He said no, to call back. At this point I asked for a supervisor and he then kind of stumbled and said his supervisor is at lunch, I then said is there any other supervisor around. He said nobody was available, then I swear two seconds later he said oh wait someone is available, let me transfer you. Clearly he was just trying to deter me lol

I hope this gives you an idea... just use your words wisely and be a little persistent (but polite)

Saw on the Case Tracker app that our interview is scheduled on January 17th. Looking forward to it! Came earlier than expected!

Do I still need to bring proof from our relationship before getting married? (I arrived on a K1 visa).

So my EAD card is being produced right now and I guess as soon as they sent it to me I can go to the social security office and get my card. My questions is I heard that it takes about two weeks until they send you the card. However, someone else told me that you can get the number (not the card) right away and thats pretty much all you need to start working. I know this sounds ridiculous since we've all been waiting forever so whats two weeks. But I already have an opportunity to work and I am counting the days (as weird as this may sound). So can I just go start working with the number?

Mine took a week to get and my sons only took 5 days so they are pretty fast.

Our took exactly 1 week from day he applied to receive in the mailbox. Most employers want a copy of the SS card for their records.

Do you have your state ID yet? You need that when you apply for employment.

I had a driver's licence because of my student visa. But when I wanted to change my name and extend the validity of the driver's licencse DMV told me that they cant verify my legal status here. Which is crazy since I have never been illegal here. I guess USCIS and DMV did not communicate well. Now I have to prove DMV my status here which I guess I can only after the approval

It must be the SAVE system they couldn't verify you in. I'm stuck with that also and I have my EAD been waiting since Friday and still waiting have passed both tests only waiting to be cleared so I can get my card!

You could try, I think it's going to depend on the office you go to (and the person helping you). On day 1 they won't have the number issued yet so it might be a couple days.

I would suggest to just wait for the card though because most employers do want a copy of the SS card. We got my wife's SS card in a week so what's a few more days :)
