USCIS has the same rules for everyone, no matter what country they're from. Everything embassy related is country specific, yes.

Not necessarily true. Some have received RFE for original signatures.

The beneficiary does not need to sign the "how we met". It is actually a question that has space for answer on the I-129f form. You only need include an additional sheet if you need more room. It can be one sentence. Does not need to be a long drawn out story.

Have links to these RFEs? Were they within the last 3 years?(seriously want to know as I have been following this topic for a while now) The master RFE list here on VJ shows no RFEs for 'wet' signatures since 2013. Please read this > http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/604639-what-did-you-send-your-i-129f-package-in-some-added-questions/#entry8251338

You are wrong. There are no requirements for the I-129F that are specific to any certain country.

What is the link to this RFE? Have not seen one since 2013.

Unfortunately the how we met is supposed to be described in more detail, one sentence is probably not going to be enough... I wrote maybe 2 sentences about how we met on the i-129f and I still got an rfe because they wanted an actual letter of declaration on how we met. Just FYI. But yeah the beneficiary doesn't need to sign that one, just the petitioner.

He can print, sign, scan and email you those documents too. They don't have to be wet signatures. In case you want to save some money on the shipping, I mean.

We called and clarified this one through USCIS hotline. They informed us that it has to be physically signed.

I shipped my documents to my fiance.

USCIS "hotline" is called the misinformation line for a reason. They know nothing about the process or how things work behind the scenes. They informed you wrong just like they do in 80% of all other cases too.

And depending on how you look at the answer you got: of course the documents have to be physically signed by the beneficiary - but the signature doesn't have to be wet, a scanned copy is perfectly fine.

We played safe. We didnt wanna delay the process.

I hear ya, I'm definitely the type of person who'd rather "over do" something just to be "on the safe side", even if it's not necessary. So we did the whole wet signature thingy too, but we were together in the US at the time so it wasn't even a discussion, haha.

Good luck on your journey btw! (F)
