Filed 8/22/2016. Recently received a letter that an ROC interview is scheduled for 12/12/17. This was probably triggered by the aborted N-400 interview in early November, when the officer said she couldn't conduct the N-400 interview because the I-751 was still pending and sent us away. Fortunately, in the midst of a crazy travel schedule, the upcoming interview date actually works for us (no minor miracle!) so we're not really too upset.

Wow! It is, indeed, lucky that your interview date actually works - and it's not too far away! Good luck!

Hi there! This could be the best news of the month for me !!!
Question for you.. did you ever receive a text msg or email that your N400 case was in line for interview? I am thinking maybe your case wasn't in line for interview yet and that's why it wasn't sent to the field office yet.... maybe?

my N-400 has not moved at all. I did my biometrics in August, and thats about it. It has not been moved to In-line yet..

Wow. Congrats, so i guess it is possible that 751 filers who have 400 pending could still be 751 approved, I believe you are the second 400 filer got a 751 approved by CSC. That gives me a bit hope about 751 being approved with 400 pending. Your case also just further confirm that what tier 2 officers say should all be taken with a grain of salt. You really can't trust them,lol. USCIS remains unpredictable.

It seems to me the tier 2 officers are making up things every time you call. Either that or they are high on something because evidently nothing of what they say is happening.

Oh ok, that non movement of your 400 might explain why you got your 751 approved just like CaliforniaWife suspected. I have been in line for a 400 interview since 9/28 this year, so I think they will probably combine my two pendimg applications, and you are right about tier 2 officers. Whatever they have told me so far is nearly 100 percent false,lol. Also i guess each field office handles cases differently. Los Angeles here, so i will try to wait patiently and see how it all plays out. Been waiting for my 751 for almost 16 months, yikes, i might have 5 more months to go until my 400 interview.

Anyone heard or seen a trend regarding second round of biometrics? I had read on one thread (don't recall which) someone mentioned that biometrics are good for 15 months, a lot of us are at or around that mark, so I was wondering if any of those who follow the other threads more closely than I, had noticed this happening, and is a second notice something we should be looking out for? :huh:

ROC :bonk:
Filed I-751 08/10/16;
NOA1 08/12/16;
Biometrics 10/13/16;
Finally Divorced 02/2017;
Divorcee Waiver filed 04/2017;
I-551 Stamp 07/10/2017
Approved 12/12/2017! 16 months 2 days later!!!!!! :)

Good, it should be quick and easy.  Ours lasted about 15 mins., and that was because she was reviewing the old and updated documents we submitted.

If they need it, they will send you an appointment letter.

We haven't gotten any notice of more biometrics—granted, she did apply for N-400 which meant new fingerprints for that about 10 months after the ROC fingerprints—but the notice for our ROC interview next month (looks like a pretty boilerplate checklist) does say to bring two passport photos, so it seems like they're wanting something more recent.

No, but like others we applied for N400 and had biometrics done in August. Maybe the 15 month biometric mark is going to push USCIS to adjudicate the remaining petitions?

The likelywood of our 751 being skipped over is pretty high unfortunately, but it seems that it has been slow for August filers in general.

You just can't have everything with USCIS. Just need to focus on the ultimate goal.

I didn't have my biometrics taken until October so 15 months from then would be January... hopefully we'll hear before then! (And I think if I don't hear anything before Christmas I might just send in my N-400 and then get the biometrics done for that.) But I suspect that some of us who don't get approved soon and who haven't filed N-400 will get another round of biometrics appointments. We definitely should keep an eye out for that.

I think @asingh61 just got "lucky" - either they have an especially eager and efficient officer on their case or they were on the top of a new stack of applications. Their application was definitely "out of order" since there's a huge gap between them and the last approval. Also, they didn't get their NOA for ages... wound up having to have it re-sent, so maybe it's just karma repaying them for having that anxiety at the beginning of their process.

In other news:

I went today for another Infopass - the main purpose was to verify that they had my correct address on file (they did). I asked them if they could see whether anything had been sent (they couldn't) and I picked up the "study guide" for the civics exam for naturalization.

It was kind of funny, actually - it seemed like they had 3 levels of training at the window: Young Guy at the computer, Trainer Guy telling him on how to work it, and then Overseer Guy watching Trainer Guy. Trainer Guy kept trying to "mansplain" the process to me (honey, I think I know this process better than you do at this point) and I kept having to calmly say "no, I don't need the N-400 form - I've already filled it out. I just need the study guide" and so on. Finally, Overseer Guy (who was tall) just reached over the head of Trainer Guy, grabbed the study guide book off the shelf and handed it to me.  I got there early and wound up leaving before my scheduled time had even started.

...And the waiting continues... :clock:

:clock:

It is an unfortunate situation for many CSC August filers. The slowness might force some August filers to file 400 after all after waiting for 751 for over 15 months, the original purpose is to wait it out for 751 without applying for 400 to avoid 751 being combined, but the holidays are coming, and August processing seems to be stalling or going very slowly. Applicants should not have been put in a tough situation like this, it should not be a gamble, i think in a year of unprecedented slowness, and if your ultimate goal is 400, it is probably a better gamble to apply 400 while you are eligible and forget about 751 for the bigger picture since 751 processing is highly unstable and unpredictable.
