Do Screenshots of Facebook Statuses Count as Proof?

Hi everyone!

I'm in the process of putting together my I-129F and am just wondering if screenshots of Facebook statuses count as proof of an ongoing relationship? We always tag each other in things when we're together. I am going to scan in the stamps on my passport, but I also have all of my confirmation email form all of our plane tickets. Is this something good to include? I have color photos as well. Just trying to make sure they don't request more evidence.

You would include evidence like the Facebook photos for the purposes of the embassy, not for USCIS. (USCIS doesn't care about this "front-loaded" information but will pass it along to the London embassy when the petition is approved.)

The London embassy has specific requirements that differ from those of most other consulates in terms of "proof of bona fide relationship," so look through the United Kingdom regional forum for relevant threads.

For USCIS, send information showing that you met in person within the last 2 years, and that you're eligible to marry and intend to marry within 90 days of the beneficiary's entry to the U.S. with use of the K-1 visa.

For the petition you only need to prove that you have met at least once in person. Boarding passes, other named tickets, passport stamps and pictures of you two together will suffice for that purpose.

London embassy is super-easy, and the reports are that they usually don't even ask for any evidence. If you want to bring some anyway, I suggest more pictures together and chat/phone logs. Facebook statuses are way too much for London :-)

I'd recommend to add chats between you and your fiancé and/or lists of phonecalls between the two of you to show ongoing relationship. Some say that USCIS doesn't care - but the embassy does and some embassies check through your petition even before you go there on your interview. Hopefully they haven't made up their minds by then. Luckily your not from a high-fraud country at least.

Better send a little too much than a little too little. NOT saying that you should send 4 lb of proof, but I'd recommend a few chatlogs from every here and there throughout your relationship. It doesn't cost much (if anything) and won't hurt your case.

And to the interview you bring proof from the time of your NOA1 up until the interview date. Then you have it all covered.

Another vote (from an experienced UK member)--

Skip the Facebook fluff. Skip the pages of chats. Show you met. Show you met a bunch if you have. Send a few (6) photos so they can see your happy faces. Your consulate in London will not ever want to see your Facebook tags or your private conversations.

I just attached two plane tickets, about 7 pictures (printed in color on regular white paper), and a screenshot of FB from when we got in a relationship. Got no RFE. =)

You absolutely do not need anything from Facebook. The evidence I sent in was 100% just the meeting in the past two years evidence. (Passport stamps, boarding passes, hotel receipts, pictures of us together in person, etc)

No need to front load for London.
