I guess sometime you have to direct them about your order of evidences coz they might not want to flip through the pages to find the evidences on their own.

Like for the evidence of travel to Italy:

1. Making an statement that flights between Italy and Germany, being members of Schengen countries, are like a domestic travel with no custom/immigration check or stamping

2. Flight reservation along with the bank statement showing the airfare payment.

3. Passport stamp in Germany (do they provide both? arrival and departure) matching the dates shown in the flight reservation. (No need to submit the copies of all pages, just the ones that matter) I would be pissed if I have to go though all pages on my own just to find one or two relevant pages.

4. If applicable, arrival stamp back in US.

Similarly other lists you have laid out.

This. It is a common enough issue that they should be familiar with it. My daughter only gets stamped in Iceland when we go to Denmark. I don't even get a stamp because I travel on my non-US passport. So, plenty of people have had this issue, they were probably just looking for something a little bit more definite than what you originally sent.

So we can write in the statement explaining that in most Europe you get a stamp only in the first country you reach?

You don't think U.S. immigration knows that? Did you write an initial letter explaining how you two met? That's all that's required at this stage, all the other things are for the embassy.....

Hi everyone!

We filed for K1 fiancé visa in March 2016. My fiancé and I got an RFE in the mail today asking for evidence to show that we (the petitioner and beneficiary) have met in person before sending the petition. I have been an au pair from July 2014 to July 2015 in the USA and I met my fiancé in October 2014 and we starting dating since then. We would see each other every weekend. We traveled together around the US and we have provided this evidence when sending the petition, like airbnb receipts with both our names. My fiancé came to visit in December 2015 in Italy we sent them his ticket, but not the passport stamp. The only stamps he has in his passport are from the connecting flight in Germany, there are no stamps at his final destination in Italy. How can we work around this?

I went for two weeks in April 2016 to visit him and I have my passport stamps and boarding passes, should we also send that proof?

I don't know if it is ok because it was after we filed the petition. What are your thoughts?

Thank you in advance for any help.

Here is the list of evidence we are considering sending back:

-Explanation of meeting circumstances

-AirBNB receipt to New York (with both our names on)
-AirBNB receipt to Virginia Beach (with both our names on)
-Plane ticket for Italy December 2015 through january 2016
-Credit card statement showing purchases in Italy
-All copies of petitioner passport including the passport stamp
-Copy of Beneficiary J1 Visa to the U.S. showing I have been in the Stases for one year
-Pictures in New York
-Pictures in Italy at the Vatican City
-Different other pictures of us in US and Italy

Why? That is not what the RFE is asking for.

I think what they want to see is his biographical passport page and the stamp showing he came here I Italy in December. We will send that too along with pictures taken in Italy. And credit card statements and itenerary of his flight.

Yes, we wrote a statement explaining how we met. We lived 40 min by car from each other while I was an au pair for one year.

We are also sending proofs of my stay in US for one year as an au pair, such as entry stamps, my J1 visa and my contract with my host family showing I lived there till July 2015.

We also have sent picture. But we will resend more pictures of us along with our families and friends. What we are going to send should be enough hopefully! :) thank you!

I will ask you one more thing guys please.

My J1 visa was issued on my Morrocan passport in June 2014 and I entered the US with my Moroccan passport. I was a permanent resident in Italy at that time. I became italian citizen in July 2014 but didn't have time to do my Italian passport, and also I had to travel anyway with my Moroccan passport to the US since I had my visa on it.

We will send my bigrophical copy of Moroccan passport along with visa and entry stamps, and also a copy of my new Italian passport that was issued by the country of Italy but at the Italian embassy in Washington DC since I did it there when I was living in the US.

We will explain in a statement that I am dual citizen although now I use only my Italian passport. I know US doesn't recognize anyway dual citezenship

Thank you in advance.

Did you give a clear timeline and dates in how you answered question 34a?

That's the only thing I can really think of-- that you didn't specify dates and meetings to definitively state that you've met (meaning "met up" not "originally met") within the past 2 years. If you just answered the question "we met at church" or something, even with all the other timeline evidence, they could nitpick that.

Either way, your list does look solid. Have him check his email for flight itineraries and e-boarding passes. I only had itineraries for most of my trips (and honestly, only one is needed), but I pointed to corresponding stamps in my passport to prove I'd taken the flight. We also had the foresight (and a bit of cheekiness) to take a photo of the two of us together holding up a copy of a newspaper with the date visible on the trip we got engaged (right before we applied).

If his itinerary had him transferring through Frankfurt, point to the Frankfurt stamp, and point that out on the itinerary. They will know that you only get stamped in in your first European location. They'd more than likely believe that he took the connecting flight, unless they somehow think that someone would go through the trouble to buy a ticket to Italy but get out in Germany to specifically avoid seeing the person they're going to apply for a fiance visa through. IE-- who does that? Someone going through this just for the visa would make sure to go to Italy and generate proof. A real couple would meet up with each other.

Marriage/ AOS Timeline:

23 Dec 2015: Legal marriage

23 Jan 2016: Wedding!

23 Jan 2016: "Blizzard of the Century", wedding canceled/rescheduled (thank goodness we were legally married first or we'd have had a big problem!) :sleepy:

24 Jan 2016: Small "civil ceremony" with friends and family who were snowed in with us. December was a bit of a secret and people had traveled internationally and knew we *had* to get married that weekend, and our December legal marriage was nothing but signing a piece of paper at our priest's kitchen table, without any sort of vows etc so this was actually a very special (if not legally significant) day. 16 Apr 2016: Filed for AOS and EAD/AP (We delayed a bit-- no big rush, enjoying the USCIS break)

29 Apr 2016: NOA1 Hardcopy for all 3

29 Jul 2016: EAD/AP Approved ~3 hours after online service request
04 Aug 2016: RFE for Green Card (requested medicals/ vaccination record. They already have it). :ranting:
05 Aug 2016: EAD/AP Combo Card arrived! (Day 111)
08 Aug 2016: Congressional constituent request to get guidance on the RFE. Hoping they see they have the form and approve!

K-1 Visa Timeline:

PLEASE NOTE. This timeline was during the period of time when TSC was working on I-129fs and had a huge backlog. The average processing time was 210+ days. This is in no way predictive of your own timeline if you filed during or after April 2015, unless CSC develops a backlog. A backlog is anything above the 5-month goal time listed on USCIS's site

Yes we did. I think that wasn't enough.

We are making copies of tickets/stamps/ bank statements/pictures/copy of my J1 visa/contract of my work employment as an au pair with my host family/copy of my Italian and Moroccan biographical passport pages (since when I got my J1 VISA I WAS A PERMANENT RESIDENT OF ITALY AND NOW I AM CITIZEN AND HAVE MY ITALIAN PASSPORT WHICH WAS ISSUED AT THE ITALIAN EMBASSY OF WASHINGTON, THERE IS PAGE IN THE PASSPORT PROOFING THAT) This evidence is to proof I WAS AN AU PAIR AND WAS IN THE U.S.A WHEN I MET MY FINACE. We are almost ready to send them more evidence and all this information.

Thank you for your help and suggestions.
