How did you know?

VJ posts estimated times for various types of petitions here: http://www.visajourney.com/content/times/

Keep in mind these are just estimates based on data entered by VJ members and have no official bearing on anything. CSC has been fluctuating an awful lot since I started keeping track daily almost two months ago... but at least psychologically for me it's nice to see "new" numbers each day, even when they regress, rather than USCIS's monthly updates of data that is already a month or two out-of-date by the time it is posted.

Hi All!

An immigration officer called my husband just today. I am currently out of the country in Manila and will return on Saturday. He verified if i still live with him. Of course, my husband said yes. The IO said that he sees all looks good. He called to say that we are approved on the spot and that he cancelled the interview. He ended the conversation saying that we are approved and that everything should be mailed to us by this Friday and that I can apply for citizenship in June.

Anyone got calls too? I have not heard anything like this where they call. I will update when I receive the written approval letter with the permanent greencard.

I really hope this is legit.

Simple: just call them. Call the 800 number, ask to speak with a tier 2 officer (or have him call you), and explain what happened. Pretty sure he will be able to tell if its a 'scam' or not.

I find it very odd someone call your husband, pretending to be an officer, just to say you've been approved. I mean, what's the point?

The "cancel the interview" part is a bit strange, I gotta say...but who knows...it might be true.

Call them. Not a safer way of knowing it for sure.

Perhaps the officer tried to call you and the call wouldn't go through because you're abroad. Why would this be a fake call? How would they get your spouses number if it were not genuine? My advice would be to relax and wait for your 10 year green card to arrive.

If you really want to worry yourself unnecessarily call the USCIS mis-information line. You'll undoubtedly get some nonsense from them, which will give you cause to worry more.

Congratulations!

It's not a scam. It's infrequent but it's happened several times (at least I've read about 10 such cases on VJ). Don't listen to your friends as it's obvious they have no idea what they are saying. You've been approved so just wait till you receive the GC like the caller told you.

No offense here. But, If they suspect your relationship, Don't you think they should mail you for an interview or request for evidence instead of making a phone call? Seriously, A phone call?  A goverment agency make a phone call?

Get someone phone number is not that hard. There are a freaking company out there that kept your personal information. They buy all your information from your bank, your credit card, Or even sneaking in this website and knowing about what you waiting for. Then they stocking your information and get ready to sell them to scammer. These evil company will make their client to pay just $5-$10 to take a peak at someone information. Yep, I've done that before by paying them just $1.99 to get my crush's info.

Anyway, I wish someone will call me like that.  I hope you're really got approved. If i were you, I won't believe anything until my new green card is in my hands. That is it.
