hey guys little help I received this

We reviewed the Affidavit of Support documentation you sent to the National Visa Center

(NVC). According to the current poverty guidelines, it does not appear you or any of your

sponsors meet the minimum income requirement to sponsor the intending immigrant(s)

for this petition. To avoid delays, you may have an additional sponsor complete an

Affidavit of Support (Form I-864) and provide it to the intending immigrant to submit at

their interview. At that time, a consular officer will make a decision regarding this

requirement.

the interview will take place in china

I am making $12000 a year right now so as the poverty requires I am $8025 short on the affidavit of support and I don't have a joint sponsor

I do have about $70000 in saving account

my question is can I use the saving account money as asset will my wife have problem getting her visa if we don't have a joint sponsor thank you

From the instructions https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-864instr.pdf

If your total household income does not meet the requirement, you may submit evidence of the value of your assets, the sponsored immigrant’s assets, and/or assets of a household member that can be used, if necessary, for the support of the intending immigrant(s). The value of assets of all of these persons may be combined in order to meet the necessary requirement. Only assets that can be converted into cash within one year and without considerable hardship or financial loss to the owner may be included. The owner of the asset must include a description of the asset, proof of ownership, and the basis for the owner’s claim of its net cash value

So if you have proof that you have assets that exceed 125% of the poverty line in your state, then yes, you should provide that and (according to the instructions) it should suffice.

Yes, if the account is in your name, that should suffice. I don't think you'd need 10 months' worth, just the most recent statement.

Asset would just mean the textbook definition:

property owned by a person or company, regarded as having value and available to meet debts, commitments, or legacies.

So if you had gold coins, or a car (that you didn't need) or real estate, etc.

congrates on your visa.... how many peoples were there for interveiw for an immigrant visa

There were about more than 100 people there and roughly 40 of them including me was there for immigrant visa interview.

Hey...guys and gals,

finally.....visa in hand. I would like to thank visa journey members for your support.Without you, I would be in mental hospital because this process makes me nut. I wish you all have approvals, interviews and visa very soon. :)

Congratulations....

hello everyone,

I really need your help here. My hubby was told in his interview yesterday to get a new joint sponsor because our sponsor has already sponsored too many people in the past. They kept his passport and told him as soon as he submits a new sponsor, they will give his passport back within 10 days. However, I recently got a new full time job and my income will be above 125% of poverty guidelines this year. Should I email the embassy and explain them with the proof of my recent pay stubs? or should I just try to find a new sponsor? I am honestly finding it very difficult to find a sponsor for him.:cry::cry:

Yes if you do email them with your pay slip from this job. (W2 forms) you should be good.

Well, not quite... but close =P

In order to qualify based on the value of your assets, the total value of your assets must equal at least five times the difference between your total household income and the current Federal Poverty Guidelines for your household size, however, if you are a U.S. citizen and you are sponsoring your spouse or minor child, the total value of your assets must only be equal to at least three times the difference.

So if you're $8,025 short, you just need to prove you have $24,075 in assets. Either way you're good, but just in case anyone else happens to see this, it depends on the difference.

LOL...I do think when they (Mumbai specifically speaking) study our case a head of time, they not only make the decision for approved or denied, but if approved, I think they go ahead and issue/print the visa. That is the only explanation I can come up with for why his case was changed from Ready to Issued so quickly. Yesterday, when I checked/tracked his visa it said, "processing for delivery" and today it says "passport ready for pick up."

Congratulations LinJoe!!! You've reached out to so many people here (L):dancing:(L):dancing:

So my husband got his visa but they listed his entire name under surname and listed his given name as FNU. I had them fix it that at the NVC stage and they assured me it would print with his correct first name but it printed on the visa this way. His passport also lists his entire name under surname and given name is blank.

How can this be fixed? I told him to call the embassy but will they keep it that way because his passport lists it that way?

When he arrives in th US I don't want his IDs to say FNU as his first name when he has one.

Any thoughts? Does e have to change his passport in order to correct it? Will his green card lists it as FNU well when that arrives?

I would suggest just travel on the same visa, because if passport name and name on IV is matching, trust me you should not make any updates right now.

US border control officer. (immigration officer) are very specific to having naming issues. I am sure you wouldn't want him to deal with that when he arrives there.

You can update his social security and documents once he is there in states.

However, if you want his visa to be correct, it might be a longer process. because you will have to update first his name on biographic page of his passport and then update visa and I m not sure how much time would that take in your country.
