Pls house, i have a quick question. Does nvc have to request for ds260 form before it is submitted? The agent my wife hired said nvc hasnt requested for it, and that she normally asks her clients to fill out ds260 before hand. Please, how genuine is this explanation?

after you pay IV fee, the ds260 will open up. It's electronic, you don't mail it in. Please read the first link in my signature as it tells you the NVC process. If your IV fee hasn't opened, call NVC and review the ds261 (choice of agent) this will unlock the IV fee, to be paid.

You do all this on (pay fees, ds261, ds260)

1/28/2016 review 261 to get iv fee unlocked ( unlocked once I did review, was taking to long)

Yay, reviewed the DS-261 over the phone this morning. Piece of cake. Now still waiting for the AOS fee to show up as "paid". How long did you guys have to wait for that? Hubby paid the fee on saturday. It says 2 to 3 business days on CEAC and 5 days on the NVC website!

Also, after I had the choice of agent form reviewed over the phone it doesn't say "not invoiced" next to the IV Bill anymore. I hope that's normal?

Why are you waiting you are losing precious scan time. Get those packages in now. See while one thing is happening we send in stuff. While it goes to PAID your packages are sent received. The clock starts ticking. They don;t start reviewing on day one. That's why we say send both because by the time they get to your DS-260 to review they have your IV and AOS to review all together.

Too everyone soon as you PAY your AOS get your AOS and IV packages sent. Got to put your foot on the gas with NVC a day delay can mean weeks. NVC stops and starts is for ever changing.

Congrats on all the recent CCs! NVC sure seems to be doing some work. :content:

I've got a question about the I-864/filing taxes. My husband and I both live in Sweden, and he has made a whopping $97 in the US last year (from dividends). Should he file taxes? Or should we just include a paper saying he hasn't filed taxes because he didn't make any money in 2015?

He doesn't have to didn't make enough so on the 2015 amount he made $0 and a explanation. Did not make enough to qualify to file.

You have joint sponsors right? And you have all your domicile paperwork ready?

I know what you mean; actually my supporting docs will be delivered to my husband overseas today and he has his financial docs ready to go. Problem is now that the AOS payment didn't go through and he will have to check why. But other than that, we're ready to roll. Iv Bill has been invoiced today so as soon as the money transfer issue is cleared we will pay both.

Okay people need to be reading the NVC Process wiki in the 1st post but here's how things work.

  1. Submit DS-261
  2. Pay AOS fee
  3. Call to get DS-261 reviewed. This unlocks the IV fee
  4. IV fee paid. When it changes from in process to PAID that unlocks DS-260
  5. DS-260 is now available to fill out and submit

What step are you on what have you done so far? Also since she hired a agent what they are saying is normal. Yes of course they will have her and you fill out exactly what is needed to fill out a DS-260. Seems redundant that you are filling out the information and paying someone else to type it into the system. Oh well your money.

Agents, lawyers, consultants take forever they don't move until NVC sends them email and word to go to next step. You have instructions here you probably could have been done. ave they even submitted your AOS and IV packages for you yet.

I just tried to fill out the DS 261 choice of agent form and it says. The selected case and invoice number combination does not match their records. Should I call to verify the number again? Maybe I was too excited and didn't hear right. ?

Congratulations. Did you file EP by chance? I have added you to the spreadsheet.

Thank you, and no I didn't EP. My embassy is Juarez. I sent in both the AOS and civil documents on the 25th of February they received them the 26th. About 4 days later I got the email that my scan date was the 26th. And then just out of curiosity the other night I decided to check my CEAC page and saw the 3 N/As. I was in shock. So yesterday morning I called the NVC and a very nice lady confirmed case complete. Ya so only eleven days it took. I made sure before I sent everything in that I had everything. I was so worried that I would get a check list. I even put little yellow post it notes on documents that weren't translated saying what they were. Like my Husband birth-certificate and our marriage certificate. I just cant believe it went so fast. But for reals, I needed it. I almost went crazy waiting on the I-130 to be approved. It took 10 months. My I-130 case was received by the NVC on 2/8/2016 and completed 3/8/2016 so exactly 1 month.

Yes definitely call. They gave us the wrong number first time we called. Got the same error on the ceac site. Called and got the correct number.

You know the weird thing that happened to me was similar to what Amachuma was saying. When I called to get my case and IIN, they said to wait till I got the welcome email before starting the form. I got excited and completed the DS-261 that night anyway. The next day, early afternoon, I called to have them review it over the phone and the lady kept saying she can't review it because it "hasn't been sent to (me)" yet. I told her I completed it the night before so not sure what she means by "not being sent" yet. She just kept repeating herself. However, an hour later I received the welcome email and the AOS fee was invoiced. Then when I called I got a different person and she was able to review the DS-261 with me over the phone. I don't know if the two are connected or if it was a coincidence that after the welcome email was sent they were able to review it with me via phone.

I am still not clear about 2015 tax return. How are you guys sending the documents to NVC? Do you have your 2015 tax return filed as 'married filing jointly'? Will extension receive a RFE? Extension reason will be : to have the wife back in US and get the SSN number and file the return.

We already have our extension and W2 ready to send to NVC
