Hi!

I've recently applied for a B2 Visa, and was promptly denied. I understand that I have come off as an intending immigrant to the officer, but I want to convince him otherwise on my 2nd application. Here's my background:

-3rd year engineering student in the Philippines

-Parents have above average wages

-Uncle is a USC who will be hosting me for my stay in the US

-19, single

-1st Application interview was January 28, 2016

I just want to visit my cousin who lives with my uncle while I have a semester off from the university. For the first application, I indicated to stay for 6 months in the US since I was intending to enroll for the first semester of the coming year (August 2016) But on my 2nd application, I can only stay for 3 months because I have since enrolled for classes starting on June 2016. I want to schedule an interview this February so I can still make the most out of this vacation.

What ties can I further give and what questions am I to anticipate?

Thanks in advance!

Hi!

I've recently applied for a B2 Visa, and was promptly denied. I understand that I have come off as an intending immigrant to the officer, but I want to convince him otherwise on my 2nd application. Here's my background:

-3rd year engineering student in the Philippines - not strong enough

-Parents have above average wages - you are 19, you are no longer tied up to your parents ties in the country, you have to prove your ties independently.

-Uncle is a USC who will be hosting me for my stay in the US - NON-bearing

-19, single

-1st Application interview was January 28, 2016

You are just putting yourself for another denial. You are applying too soon from you previous denial. Yes there was no specific time now for a someone denied for a visa to re-apply but the advise by CO's is you can re-apply when your circumstances have changed.

Did your circumstances have changed? Changing the length of your stay doesn't change anything, that doesn't add any ties for you to come back.

In my assessment you have no ties at all to come back; and COs are expert on their job. Sorry, that is the way it is.

You have no ties what so ever to Philippines. You are in the system with a application requesting 6 months. That shows that you are not fully into school. I know of no University students full time that can take 6 months off. You are very young and single. I see no ties. Nothing has changed for you since you last applied. What would be different? Sorry don't see how.

I am currently not enrolled for the semester but according to the university rules, I have to enroll immediately the following semester or else, I would be given sanctions that would make it difficult to stay in my degree program or even the university. This is the University of the Philippines.

So how can students visit US?

They apply for Tourist Visa. It's just your case is not strong. You got greedy and made the mistake of saying 6 months. What student gets 6 months off? That shows you really aren't full time in school. Your 3rd year you are in school a lot. A 6 month break isn't realistic.

And shows the CO you probably won;t come back. I mean for what reason? ^ months is a long time to be on vacation with no job. That also is your issue. You are suppose to show you can afford the trip and take care of all your own expenses.

I was barred from enrolling for the current semester as an academic penalty and was advised for readmission to the university for August 2016 that's why I wanted 6 months. But after further processing within the university, I am now granted readmission to my degree program for June 2016, 2 months ahead of what was originally set.

wait at least 6 months between applications. From what I know all new applications within 6 months are automatically denied.

So how can students visit US?

Students with very strong ties to their home country and no relatives living in the U.S from the low fraud countries generally have a high chance of getting Tourists Visa.

Everyone posted in your thread has given you a fair opinion based on your first post due to your case does not sound like you have a very strong ties to your home country.

So, your chance of getting a Tourist Visa is about 1 in 100 based on what you said.

That 1% means the CO might let you visit because he/she is on a very good mood that day or enjoying the best day of the year such as a Pay Raise or just get promoted to a better position; etc.

Well, that 1% chance become 0 if you don't apply. You never know and you might get lucky!

Spend the $ and find out the answer.

Good Luck!
