What's the interview for? Adjustment of Status? The affidavit of Support is the I-864. You have to have a sponsor and the sponsor has to agree to support you and pay back the US government if you go on welfare or receive benefits like that.

You've posted in a fiancee visa forum and talk about a spouse. It seems like you are kinda confused. If you're only learning about the affidvit of support now you're in a bit over your head.

The affidavit of support is a document that you sign and submit the proves your current income is sufficient for your household size. You need to show some past years' tax returns, and proof of current and continuing income.

If you cannot meet the requirements then you must secure a joint sponsor that meets the requirements.

If you don't meet the requirements, your spouse will not be issued a visa.

Where is your spouse currently living and/or what's her nationality?

Have you read the K-1 guide? http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide

The affidavit of support is completed by filling out I-134 and supporting documents. It basically lets the CO know that you earn enough to support your fiance.

Hi and congratulations on making it this far in your process.

Would love to help you, but first you need to clarify what visa you've applied for? You talk about your wife, but your profile says K-1 (fiancé visa). Are you married? If so, I suppose you've filed for the CR-1/IR-1 visa?

If you are engaged and going K1-route, look up this site for some useful information:

http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide

However, if it is the CR-1/IR-1 you're talking about:

http://www.visajourney.com/content/i130guide1

You should also check out the sub-forum for your contry/region - as what is recommended to bring to the interview may vary.

Here is the website where you can download the document:

http://www.uscis.gov/i-134

Also your going to have to show proof of your income so you need tax transcripts maybe going back to three years depends on what your embassy expects which you can look up on this site, and a letter from your bank showing your assets, or a letter from your company stating your salary and employment information. Also this has to have a wet signature so your going to have to mail it out so it reaches in time for the interview.

What country is she from? Some embassies/consulates treat the affidavit of support differently.
