Hello! I feel silly writing this post but I've been following this forum since my fiancé and I applied back in Sept. We got our NOA2 hard copy yesterday. The thing I am confused on is what exactly is the next step? I know we have to wait for NVC to send us case number and then to send it to the London Embassy and then wait for a letter from them stating that we can make interview appointment but I know there are a ton of things that will have to take place before the interview, affidavit of support, medical... But what exactly are we going to be doing in the immediate future and when do I mail in the affidavit of support and other docs? And when does my fiancé have to get the police paper thing ? Not sure the name of it. Thank you! I know this post is all over the place, just hoping for some clarity.

Also, some of you have said you've gathered all affidavit of support papers so they're ready to be sent when the time comes, but how can you do that when it asks for the most recent? Thanks again x

It's good to know that people are progressing with the K 1. I'm trying to get my fiance from Japan here and it's been a long process to get my Noa1. I don't want to start over and I haven't even made it to waiting o Noa2. Any words of encouragement? What should I do at this point?

Fill in your timeline so we can have a better idea of your wait time. When did you receive your NOA1? I'm in Japan as well.

Hi there!

So, the common next steps are to contact NVC in 2 weeks for seeing if they received your case and they assigne d a case number. Don't wait for them to contact you, cause it won't happen.

About documents you need to gather I really suggest you to go ask here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/99-united-kingdom/

and I saw there is the London K1 guide, maybe you would like to give a look: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/474161-london-k1-a-complete-guide/

I believe that sometimes it takes a long time or maybe not even be received (our updated numbers) from NVC, so we are being encouraged that after 2 weeks of getting the NOA2 we can call NVC to ask for the numbers.

Hope that helps. I am in the same predicament. We received our NOA2 10/1.

So, the fact is that NVC will take months to contact you, or even the embassy. It will be just a loss of time for you, if instead of waiting, you just start to call them you will get your case number and you will be able to contact the emabssy as soon as they will receive your case, instead of a long wait of months.

For some other countries it works differently, but for example: embassy here in Italy says they will contact me once they will receive my case...all people went through my same embassy told me that they never receive a word from the embassy!

So, I would just suggest to play it safe and call NVC, don't wait :)

Yes, it happened. That's only for who doesn't show enough proof of their love and they haven't met in the last 2 years, and it is so evident that the relationship is not true and genuine.

It is more possible your visa won't be approved at the embassy. There are cases.

But if your love is true, and you have financial support to show, there are not problem at all :)

Thanks. We aren't in a rush. Will probably still call after 1 month if i truly do not hear anything. We don't want her interview until December so we don't have to rush.
