When you win the Diversity Lottery, YOU have to check the site to see if you have been chosen. No one is going to contact you.

This is a scam. Do not reply to them.

Scam. Apart from above, no money is payable by selectees to the U.S. until the day of interview at the embassy.

And all official websites end in .gov, not .com or dot anything else.

A good rule to follow, however the Sydney embassy make you create a profile at http://www.ustraveldocs.com/au/so there are circumstances where it can be non-gov.

Yes but those websites don't send you emails saying "congratulations! You won the lottery! Send us money!" :D

'I received the same with a confirmation number , but if you check it here you will know that it is a spam .: www.dvlottery.state.gov

I got to know that it is spam when they asked me to send them money via Western Union , money or fees should be paid at the US embassy.

Maybe a Nigerian Green Card?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
