Irrational husband adjustment issues and removal of condition

OP here, just wanted to post a further update, in case people are wondering:

Hubby is back in his country and I told him that I wanted a divorce. His first response was what ramifications it would have on his green card and citizenship, and whether we could remain in a relationship. But basically, he seemed ok with it. I filed the paperwork, and notified immigration that we are in divorce proceedings and he would need a divorce waiver.

I am filing pro se, and he seems willing to sign the necessary documents. I told him I would send him his stuff once the divorce is final (my bargaining chip, LOL). His clothes are already packed up, and I'm slowly making my home mine again.

He seems content to be back home, and not interested in returning to the US at this point, so hopefully he won't change his mind a few months down the road. I'm trying to push this through as fast as possible, crossing my fingers he will cooperate fully.

I'm sad, and I miss him, and of course I mourn the potential dream of a future with him, but I'm also convinced that this is the right step.

I wish him well, I hope he finds what he is looking for, and I'm trying to figure out how to move forward, as my life pretty much revolved around him for the past 4 years.

thanks to all the Visajourney members who took the time of offering advice and counsel, and played therapist. I can't stress enough how grateful I am for some of the insights and words of comfort - It helped me come to this decision, and emphasized what deep inside I already knew (but sometimes you just have to hear it from a third party)

This site and its members are a godsend in more than one way!

Good for you, Wombat. I know it's been tough. Remember that whatever sadness you're going through, things will change, so just keep going toward the change and hope you feel much better really soon.
