They told me most of Africa. They said that in the last 3-4 months, there have been some laws that prohibit third parties from booking flights. I have called One Travel, CheapOAir, Emirates and a local travel agent and they all say the same. So frustrated!

Well this is crazy now, try ASAP tickets and see what they say. If nothing positive I would send the hubby the money through MoneyGram and then he can purchase the ticket in Daresalam. It will cost about the same. Did you try to just purchase online and it couldn't go through?

Yeah that is crazy especially since I bought my wife's ticket through The same airlines. Try buying it online that's what I did ( I even called them up afterwards and they didn't say anything about a law). It's to prevent fraud.

Filed: IR-2 Country: El Salvador
Timeline

Following up for El Salvador VJers - I finally had to have my husband's ex call and make an appointment for the medical exam for me because I had called El Salvador about 50 times and still had not talked to an actual person (always busy or went to voicemail for EVERY SINGLE NUMBER from the 4 options for doctor). She got through but the earliest appointment they had was May 26th. So we took it and I rescheduled the interview. When I did the reschedule, he offered both June 8th and June 15th but strongly suggested I take June 15th and some of the doctors do not have their documents ready 1 week in advance of the interview. I took his advice. I was initially crazy frustrated (and took back all of the nasty things I said about NVC to direct to the consulate) but... now we have appointments that can actually be kept so might as well be happy

SO: For the spreadsheet:

NEW Appointment Date: 6/15/15 (rescheduled from 5/20/15) - do you want me to submit this differently DWheels?

Our interview has been scheduled on June 16th!!! CC was on April 27

Have a couple of questions that are confusing me, hopefully somebody can clear the air.

1. With regards to the AOS, i understand that originals are required at the interview. However, in our case we have a joint sponsor, does that mean that they need to mail me the original signed copy to bring to the interview rather than the scanned version that was previously emailed to me to submit to the NVC electronically?

2. As far as the 2014 tax transcripts, I filed for an extension so im assuming that printed confirmation would suffice or should i rush to finish my taxes and hope a transcript is available before our interview date?

So far those are the major questions that have been racking my brain, we're so close to the finish line and i don't want to mess anything up. Agh, am i over thinking things?

Am i overthinking this, agh so frustrating how everything can

Hi!

My husband had his interview last week and was approved. Now I am trying to book him a flight (I am in the US and he is in Tanzania). They are now telling me that Africa has laws that restrict any "third parties" from purchasing the ticket. This means I can not purchase a ticket for him. Has anyone else experienced something like this? I feel so lost because every company is denying my payment.

Thanks!

Did you get through? I took a chance and purchased a ticket for my wife and I had no issues. I did online through onetravel and just checked my account has already been credited of the purchase.

One Travel accepted my payment but after speaking with a supervisor they advised that I cancel the flight because the airline might have an issue with the card and his name not matching and at that point they are not able to do anything.

He told me I should call the airline directly and check their specific rules and based on their rules, to make a decision about the ticket. I'm just confused now! I don't want them to turn him away at the airport.

Guys i am ready for interview .done with all paper work.and collected all necessary papers and certificates

Before my visa interview, I neatly arranged my documents using color-coded folders and clear plastic separates. I also placed labels on every folder and printed a cover page for each.
