Hello everyone,

My husband and I are in the process of filling out our CR-1 visa application. I am a US citizen, and he is a citizen of Jordan. My husband just moved to another country, Jeddah S.A. for work, at the moment he gets all his mail sent to his work p.o. box address, can he put down on his G-325a form, the PO box address of his employer? He does not have a current residential address because where he lives, is a new development and there are no building numbers or street address', which is common in Jeddah S.A., people use landmarks to give directions. Because of this, we need to know, can he use his work PO box address for the residential portion, or should he open a PO box of his own?

The form states residential address, but I'm hoping it will be okay to put a PO box address, if there isn't a residential address?

any help at all will be greatly appreciated!

thanks,

JR

I processed all my paperwork back in Saudi Arabia as well, it's much easier than in my home country. Have him talk to his company if he can do that, I used our company PO Box back in Dammam and it was okay with my boss.

i would suggest to have his own pobox since its not very expensive here in UAE its 300-400 AED i m sure in KSA it must be more chiper involving a company does not good they might check or uncheck the pobox weekly....i dont have pobox i gave my physical address

I asked one of the lawyers on that just answer website, and they said to give a physical address, or landmarks, because the G325a form is asking for a residential address, not mailing, just in case there is need to physically go and see where the beneficiary lives.

I'm sponsoring here from California, and I think it's probably best to not involve the company. But, now i'm discouraged that it seems to be not a good idea to use a mailing address on this form, since it's specifically asking for a residential address.

How do people give directions in KSA, without building names and numbers and street numbers?! Is there anyone who has a similar situation?

amkhan,

thanks, i had him send me a drop pin, and looked it up on my computer, it gives a district name and a number, no street names or building names, but if you google it, it will show you the building. I think that's good enough for the form. If the purpose is for anyone to, if needed, physically go and check it out, they could do it. THANK YOU.. so simple! I wish my brain didn't turn off every time I have to fill these forms out!

Thank you everyone for your help. I'm sure i'll be posting, asking for more help as we go along!

well as you know jordan can be a little similar with the whole address situation we just tried our best to make the address as much of an address as it could be, used the overall building number, street name and that was about the best we could do and i didnt have an issue at all with my husbands info.

In the instructions I do believe it says residential address, which means no PO box. At the USCIS stage, no mail will be sent to the beneficiary anyway. You do need it for NVC though.
