Yes, I called, got the 35 day script, called back a few times and it was received. Once we had the case number they told us 42 days. I called the next day and the case number was ready. It takes a day or two, despite what they tell you.

Every time I called, I just called as if it was my first time on the phone to them. :D

Good news, both of you!

Yep same as I do. I'm just relieved that it was in fact sent and then obviously received. Leave it to me to get the case that doesn't update on the site. haha

It's funny, every time we hit the next little step everything gets so exciting again. Then after a few hours I'm in a hurry for the following stage. It's like staring at the bread in a toaster to make it go faster!

Yes, call them tomorrow. Admittedly when I tried the day after my case number, they didn't have it on the first few calls (yes I am persistent). However, when I called around 2 pm Eastern Time, it was there.

So I think I'm just realizing how hard it's going to be to get through to the NVC.....called 3 times already & all 3 times all of their customer service representatives are busy- call back at a later time ?

You have to be quite persistent. The first night I tried 56 times and couldn't even get to the menu. The next day I called about an hour after they opened and got through with a 20 minute hold. Then there were random times where I'd call, get the busy message, and then retry and go straight through to an agent without joining the queue. You need to get something to drink, get comfortable and be ready to repeatedly hit re-dial. I also found that between 2 and 4 pm were easier times for me to get through. (EST)

Thank you, Chris. This is one of the reasons why it seemed fitting to have a stage appropriate thread. Filers with similar dates can compare notes and spur each other on.

Also, thank you for the heads up about the DS160. You're right. It let me partially complete it and save it. I'm wary of going any further because I had to use the SRC number instead of the London number and worry that I might forget to change it. The photos have proven a small nightmare though. They are electronic versions of the visa photos and the system doesn't seem to like any of the sizes. But early days and I didn't spend much time on it. That was a helpful piece of information though :)

Sorry for the above wbeem....I meant to add a question to that quote & didn't wor out lol. My question is- when I was filling out the D-160, I thought it asked for the SRC number...but I may have been confused. Where does it ask for the London number? Also- I read somewhere that you check "does not apply" for the National ID number....James has one (I thought) for his work. Don't UK citizens all have a national ID number?

Thanks for the advice on the times...I thinking after work with a large glass of wine may be a better time to call ☺️

Another question for you guys. It's a doozy! It has come to our attention, that my fiance has parents of the year here and he has never had any of his injections. At least according to his medical records at his doctor's office and his mother verified for at least MMR and a Tdap that he has never had it. UGH! But what if we have zero records that he's ever had any of them? We are pretty certain based on what they said he may have not had any possibly. But since you've all had some experience with the shots and stuff. Don't you guys have to have some for school? Do you have to prove that you had those before you could attend? I just don't understand how they can't be any but they had records for him as a young child. But I don't feel there would be any need for him to run blood titres since we are pretty certain that he didn't have any of these.

They did have on file at his office of some other visits at age 7 so I think that he honestly didn't get any of them. :( So here is my question, if he didn't. Do we run blood work to check ? Or just get the other shots, because the dr office didn't seem to think he had ever had any. What others would he need to have other than MMR and TdAp at that point? It's hard to determine that since there is no record and I'm assuming they are under the assumption on that list that most adults had them as children. Or would he not be required to since those are for children? I would think he would still have to have the ones listed on the CDC website for immigration which are those two , plus hep a and hep b, HIB, and Rotovirus. But one of those I don't think they give to adults. I just don't know what to do ? Should he call knightsbridge and ask them? Any help would be appreciated.

First of all, this is all easy to fix and won't cause you any delays or issues with the medical. We have pretty much what we need but Knightsbridge has their work cut out for them assembling everything into one sheet. My records were destroyed in a flood, though I'd had all my vaccines. My 13 year old .... well we have moved several times so she has part of her history on various sheets from different surgeries as they each wanted to use their own. I also didn't give her combination shots so she has had them all, but there are more doses of some than others and I declined the pertussis (not needed now at her age anyway).

So this is what I did for mine:

I checked what I need to prove:

MMR

TDap (you know the one - I never remember which are capitals for adults)

Flu (not needed now as out of flu season).

I had a booster DT and Polio because I haven't had one in over 10 years.

Had the flu shot not imagining we would not have had our medical by April 1st (cheers to TSC)

Had a titer test and got the lab results and a letter to prove I'm immune to MM&R

I went to Emcare Travel clinic. It cost me about £120 for everything but was well worth it.

He does not need to have the shots for a K1, but will need them to file AOS. It's well worth just getting signed off and saving the expense and headache of trying to do it in the US. People have had some challenges with this. You can pay to have the missing shots at the medical, which is what I am doing for my daughter's booster MMR. I can't be doing with any more running around than I need to do.

He may be able to get his shots free at the NHS. My doctor was difficult about it, but many people have had no trouble.

Ok he is going to go ahead and have his MMR and Tdap because we know he hasn't had those. But since all those others are really only pertaining to children even if he's never had them we don't need to prove that he has or hasn't had them or anything? He is still good just to get those two only like we originally planned? His NHS doctor has no problem just giving them to him because he's never had them so he won't have to pay. She just wanted me to check and make sure that was the only two he needed before he comes back for his appointment.

Congrats and welcome to the next stage! That's pretty much all I sent plus for a just in case scenario I included copy of noa2, couple new pics, copy of wedding receipts for dress etc, and copy of last flight record. But again that was all pretty much just in case but not required.

Thanks for the response! I am curious if bank receipts from where I have transferred money to her would also be good evidence? I often sent her money since her job does not pay very well.

Go to NHS and get MMR and Tdap. That's tetanus/diptheria/pertussis. It they don't have the Tdap, then any version that covers those three diseases. The Td without the pertussis isn't appropriate because of no record of a childhood immunization for pertussis.

Attend the medical exam less than 4 weeks after the shots and he gets the "insufficient time interval" waiver for Dose 2 of MMR. He never has to get it, despite what the nurse at Knightsbridge says. She doesn't know AOS and tells people wrong info. If four weeks have passed since his first MMR by the time he attends the medical, then no waiver for Dose 2 because it is fine to have another that day.

It is not flu season, so he gets the "not flu season waiver".

Tell Knightsbridge he had chickenpox and he gets the "varicella history" box ticked and a waiver for varicella shot.

It is his responsibility to make sure she filled out the waivers correctly before he leaves the medical if he wants to use that form for his AOS.

Do not catch up on childhood shots or take blood tests to check for immunity. All he needs are;

1) MMR x2 (but can get waiver for second one if 4 weeks haven't passed)

2) Tdap

3) Varicella (get waiver by reporting chickenpox)

4) Influenza (get waiver because it is not flu season)

Oh good. Nich-Nick is here. I hope you don't have plans for later today :D because my head is mush trying to collect my thoughts on how to submit the K2's DS160. There was also a note about what to do or not to do when making the payment, which I cannot seem to find on here.

Also, am I correct that we need to wait for our case to show 'ready' at the embassy on CEAC before we can submit the forms and pay?
