My husband and I had our interview on Monday 2/23. We left with an approval, they gave my husband all of our paperwork back and gave him a paper on who to contact if I mistreat him while he is here. They gave him a pink ticket to pick up his visa on thursday. So on thursday we drove down and waiting they called my husband up to the window to tell him that he is now in AP. They said it could take a week or until.....they don't know. Is what they said.

They called my husband today and told basically the same thing. His case is in AP and not to buy a ticket and that they couldn't tell him ow long it will take for AP to be over.

Has anyone herd of this before getting an Approval and then an AP?

I feel so tricked and sad! We were ecstatic and then given this news! Its heart breaking!

How long does it usually take to go through AP? Is there a place on this site that someone can lead me to for more information?

Thank you all.

AP can take from a few days to years.

Do you think they would have kept his passport if it was going to be over a few months? Have you ever herd of them keeping a passport and putting them through AP?

Yes it happens all the time. People have to ask for passports back even to travel to other countries than the USA.

Yes, AP happens for days-months even though you were told you are approved. Yes, passports are kept even if AP takes months/years.

What has happened to the "visa process" has the world become so dangerous?

Or is it politically motivated?

Who ever heard of AP 6-8 year years ago?

Ever which way it has been changed, the "visa process" has become a nightmare, for all!

I wish I could offer a word of "all will be fine soon" but the one lady said her fiance was 9 months! I just do not know, is it right or wrong to do this?

Do "they" have their reasons? Maybe yes, maybe no?

Thank you for all your responses I appreciate it! I think if it is longer than two months I am going to take a quarter off of school and go live there until my husband has the visa. It is not fair for us to live like this we have for almost 6 years now.
