I received interview date email from NVC.

My case was DQed in end of April and I had been waiting to get my interview appointment set.

Sharing with you all in case there's others like me out there waiting for the same email :)

Thank you for the heads up. We were DQed at the end of May. Hoping to see an interview date soon. Can you tell us your interview date?

Thank you. Sounds like the embassy has an idea of when they are returning to some form of normalcy.

Update - JTB pushed the Hawaii yours back to Aug. 1, 2020

Update again - JTB canceled all tours to Hawaii until the end of August.  As of now, Guam is still an option if you need to get a visa stamped and don't want to quarantine.

Was at the Tokyo embassy today on unrelated business. The visa area was completely empty, no interviews taking place. Seemed like not a great sign. Any other people hear about interviews recently? Still waiting to hear back, DQ in late May.

My husband called NVC to check what’s going on with mission critical types but NVC simply told him “do not call for individual cases like that” . Still waiting Tokyo to start interviews since late May as well.

My wife got a medical expedite at the Tokyo embassy late last month and an interview early this month. In the waiting room were two or three other expedited cases, apparently, but the embassy's communications to us since then have all asked for our patience moving forward because of slowdowns in processing and in normal embassy and consular functions. So, when she went, the visa area was nearly empty, as you described, and there were interviews taking place, but only expedited cases. I haven't heard of non-expedited interviews being held there yet, unfortunately.

Hey everyone! I have been a VJ member for awhile now, but just found this thread. My wife's CR1 was DQ in early June and she is currently waiting on an interview at the embassy in Tokyo. I went ahead and submitted an expedite request to NVC based on forced separation due to COVID-19 (I have seen several other members post on VJ that this has worked for them). I had to cut my 3 year work assignment in Japan short and return to America at the end of March. I doubt it will work, but we are willing to try anything at this point.

Just received an Interview Appointment email from NVC. Interview is scheduled for my wife at the Tokyo Embassy in August. Wife was DQ’d in mid May. Normal case, no expedite.
