Hi Everyone, this is my first time here, and I have a question. I dont want to sound stupid, but it is a simple question.

We are getting ready for submitt our I-129F Package.

One of the first requirements found here (http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide) is:

.

Payment as required by USCIS. Use a personal check so you can track the payment. Money Orders are also accepted. Read the Guide to Paying USCIS Immigration Fees.

I am trying to get it, but what is the fee, and how can I pay it with a credit card?

Hope you can help me.

Thanks

It's 340 dollars.

You cannot pay with a credit card.

Take the money out in cash and use a money order to send with the petition or a cheque.

Check or money orders drawn on a US bank only.

From the I-129F form instructions > http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-129finstr.pdf

What Is the Filing Fee?

The filing fee for a Form I-129F is $340.

There is no fee for Form I-129F petitions for classification of an alien as a spouse of a United States citizen.

Use the following guidelines when you prepare your check or money order for the Form I-129F filing fee:

1. The check or money order must be drawn on a bank or other financial institution located in the United States and must
be payable in U.S. currency; and
2. Make the check or money order payable to U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
NOTE: Spell out U.S. Department of Homeland Security; do not use the initials "USDHS" or "DHS."

There are Credit Card Cheques (or Checks in the US) - these are only available on request now, as these used to be sent out automatically by the card issuer when you first got your card and were intercepted in the mail and mis-used.

Here is a link that explains what they are - http://www.uswitch.com/credit-cards/credit-card-cheques/

So if we use money orders how does it work ?

for example we go to Western Union and we just make the transfer to U.S. Department of Homeland Security

and after we can send the receipt or the number with the file ?

WU wire transfers are not money orders. Go to a US-based bank and get a money order.

No. you do not transfer money to the DHS. A money transfer and a money order are not the same thing. https://www.google.com/search?q=money+order&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

You need to purchase a money order in the amount of $340. Then you make the money order payable to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and it include it with your I-129F petition and other supporting documentation.

How we do them-

We go to the bank and get the amount out in cash.

We then go to a supermarket that does money orders and request one for that amount and it costs us a small fee.

You are given the money order and then you write who it is payable to and sign it.

I used a Cashier's Check from my bank. On it, they spelled out exactly:

Pay to: U.S. Department of Homeland Security

For: I-129F Application Fee

Purchased By: My full name as it appears on my I-129F and G-325A

Nothing went wrong with that! Got my NOA1 just 1 week after they received the package.
