I-485 Outside Normal Processing Time.

Hi Everyone.

I applied for I485 on 04/11/2014.

And had my Biometrics. Got letter from USCIS as a Interview Waiver.

But after that I haven't Received any Mail.

Still waiting for GC. I called USCIS customer service and they opened Service Request on my behalf and I got this reply Via email

The status of this service request is:

Your petition/application is still pending consideration. We regret that we are not able to give you a specific timeframe for when we will complete the review of your petition/application. We can tell you that your case is still with the National Benefits Center, not your local Field Office.

What You people advice me to do?

Keep waiting patiently. It isn't unusual for interview waiver to take up to a year. You should renew the EAD/AP card if it is going to expire soon. There is no charge to do that.

I agree. Wait. Your case is still there..it exists. It's just slows sometimes.

What for?

Waiver cases have been taking longer, and some have been 10-12 months before approval. Your case is still pending. File to renew your EAD/AP just in case they will expire before getting your green card.

Again, there is nothing out of the ordinary here. If you look at our time line it took us 10 months to get ours and that was back before they started sending out the letters informing people that they were a potential interview waiver case. We had no idea if we had missed our interview or if our file was lost, etc. At least you got a letter letting you know that you are a potential interview waiver.

An Infopass appointment will be a waste of USCIS' time, and yours.

As stated above, it routinely takes around a year for interview-waiver AoS cases when adjusting from a K-1.

You are not beyond listed processing times, simply because USCIS do not publish processing times for I-485s being processed at the NBC (where K-1 adjustments are processed, when not transferred to a local office for an interview).

If having an interview will speed things up, how does one opt for an interview? It seems like you get what you get and simply have no choice.

You neither opt in or out; USCIS decide whether you will be interviewed or not.

I am a baby only 6 months wait up to now and counting. Perhaps instead of Ground Hog Day we should have Ground USCIS Day and ask if the wait will continue for another 6 weeks or so........................ Perhaps not they might decide it to make it another National Holiday where everything comes to a standstill! lol!

We filed in May, had our interview in December and we're still waiting. So, I don't think it makes a difference.

I am in the same situation. I filed my AOS May last year and I got an interview wavier as well, still waiting.
