You have to go in the Immigrant line not the USC line. And times vary. Depends how many people are there how many flights have landed. Coming through Chicago who knows. It can go from 100 people to thousands in a minutes time. From 1 hr wait to hours.. They always say leave yourself a 2 to 4 hour buffer.

I thought it is only two line one for USC/permanent residents and for non immigrants like tourists and so. Is there usc separately and immigrants separately plus tourist separately? My wife is USC it will be really mean if they will separate us for checking in.

There is two lines. Some airports allow you to be together some don't. You may want to go through the POE reviews and see what is said.

He's 29. I see. He called Children's. I just want to make sure he was quoted the right price. as much as I love Nigeria and Nigeria culture there are some things that are very hard for me to accept. If you've been there I'm sure you understand what I'm talking about so I need not say more. Immigration is enough stress without adding Nigerian officials to the mix. thanks Dwheels for your quick response. may God Bless You.

On NVC website there are approved medical offices that have their set prices. If it's anything other than that you can contact the consulate and let them know.

Anyone know if NVC will start sceduling for Feb in the last few days of this month or the first week of January? I got my CC on 12/12 and still no interview date...

I called and they said Jan is done. so I am hoping for February. My CC was 12/18. So we are in the same boat.

Thank you for the information. I hope you all get your interview dates set soon. Unfortunately around the holidays they become much more slower :(

Questions: Did NVC work today? And I got a letter today from them saying that "your email address has been updated" and it has all the info about our case. I never changed or updated my email address, it's always been the same. Why did I get this letter in the Mail? Anyone get this after their cc?

Hi guys! I haven't received it yet, and may not., but I think it may just be NVC verifying your email address. When I called, the rep asked me at the end of the call if my email address remained the same. Maybe that is why they sent the letters to you? I don't know...just a thought. :)

It didn't affect Robbie, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Quick question... After the NVC schedule the interview date, who sends the interview email with the instructions? The consulate or the NVC?

NVC should be sending the email for your interview. Its called a P4.

Hello everyone, best of luck to us all and congrats as we made it this far :) Got a question and hope someone can help to answer

I have been told that the officer at the embassy is the one that basically denies or approves your visa request, can he also request that you file additional forms or even request a sponsor for your case ?? Thanks for any helpful answers

Yes they have the right to request everything they find necessary. It happens all the time where people get asked for sponsor at the interview.

NVC is notorious for sending out the wrong template email. I sometimes worry about those folks. It's scary at times. No worries. We are in the home stretch people.

Just think if you made it to this thread its izzy pizzy street cuz now its just fun times at the interview (sure easy for me to say right) and pick up.

This is where people get confused about NVC because they think they were "approved" by NVC. All NVC is to us is a data collecting center. They accept and nothing more. They are to make sure all our documents are in order and ready to present.

The CO at embassy has final authority. Even when people meet the guidelines they can request a co-sponsor. How you say? If job history is shaky. This is why they ask for 3 years worth hopefully people have progressed in pay show good stable history if they haven't they explained why.

It depends also on embassy I know like Lagos they want to see last year and current above the guidelines. Some embassies just care about current.
