i wanted to let everyone know that i received my courierd medical results in Calgary by 9:30am on Monday following my Thursday am medical appointment. If you are in a rush to receive your results like I was, I would let the receptionist at the medical office know and she will try and rush the package out which she did in my case.

She then emailed me a tracking number for Puralator which she emailed and let me know they had been picked up. Great cutomer service and I was relieved to receive them in time!

I am off to Montreal tomorrow - wish me luck!

I have question...

My friend is saying why did I ever apply for K1? We can get to US on our passport, get married and apply for adjustment of status.

Is that true? Isn't that immigration fraud?

You would have to go thru a CR-1visa process which is longer the the K-1 visa.

K1 is definitely the right way.

From the ucsis website:

What if my fiancé(e) uses a different kind of visa,or enters as a visitor without visa, to come here so we can marry?
There could be serious problems for your fiancé(e) if he or she enters the United States on another visa with the intention of
marrying and residing here. Attempting to obtain a visa or entering the United States by saying one thing when you intend another
may be considered immigration fraud, for which there are serious penalties. Those penalties include restricting a person’s ability to
obtain immigration benefits, including permanent residence, as well as a possible fine of up to $10,000 and imprisonment of up to 5 years.
good luck

somewhat true!! Many do go that route. If you enter the USA with no intention of staying.......then out of the blue you change ur mind and stay..get married, one could AOS...........

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

To enter the USA with the intent to adjust your status without the appropriate visa is fraud. If you walked up to the CBP officer and said "I want to move to the USA and live there" they'd turn you away. To lie is misrepresentation. If caught you can face a lifetime ban from the USA. Chances of them charging you with misrepresentation is slim (they have to prove you committed fraud) but it can happen so it's illegal and against TOS to talk about doing.

However if you were visiting and decided randomly to stay, you can do that.
