7th month at the NVC and 1 year now in the visa process. We completed our I-130 1 year ago today.

We were in the backlog at USCIS and now the same here at the NVC. It seems everyone who started the process a month or two before or after us is moving faster. We were caught in the USCIS backlog, and then the USCIS "dump" to NVC which backed everything up at NVC this summer as well, and now the NVC change to reviewing both AOS and IV documents together which has likely delayed the review of our AOS checklist further. Although we wish nothing but the fastest process for everyone, sometimes we feel that If we didn't have bad luck, we would have no luck at all. My heart goes out to the others here that also seem to be having a hard time as well.

Our AOS checklist (the fault of our incompetent attorney and a total waste of $2,000) has a scan date 9/23. Hopefully this is the month. It needs to happen soon before this horrible process does permanent damage to our marriage. My wife has been very strong so far but now that we pass the one year mark her strength is fading. She has a hard time undrstanding how a process so basic could take so long. I must admit, I am embarrassed as an American in fromt of my Dominican family who all wonders what is taking so long and how broken our system must be.

I am in Santo Domingo as I type this. I made an "emergency" visit here that I really can't afford in order to sooth my wife who is devastated that she will not be in the USA for Christmas due to last month's checklist and the resulting additional 2 month delay. This afternoon we are going to visit la iglesia cerca la casa and pray that we receive good news soon.

First graphics-welcome-010883.gif to the thread and know we are here for you and if your wife would like to come we can cheer her up, maybe even make her laugh and know that she is not alone in this mess.

I'm so sorry for the checklist and you need to get your money back from your loser lawyer and yes you can get it back maybe not all but most of it. Would be worth a try. I received one to and God bless you for comforting your wife because I was a total and I mean total mess. They wont let my husband come to my side for obvious reasons the flag I have to the left represents for the ignorant.

I believe NVC is speeding up so don't think it's going to take near the 60 days but we still need to keep praying. I couldn't go to Mass today :( despite how hard I tried to get up this morning I just wasn't feeling very well. It was so strange and just couldn't do it, so I prayed for us all just not in a Church. God bless you and your wife.

I too keep checking this thread hoping for a good news from SOLOENTA ! I hope this is your month dear lady!!!!

Thank you sweet heart for keeping me in your thoughts, Samreen will be first, I might have to wait a little longer but praying your right. :)t5063.gif

God I hope so if you have any problems post or have your husband post the pages that have supposed mistakes and post them here with OUT personal information you don't want anyone to see and someone might be able to help you out. :) Praying for everyone to speed thought this mess. t0803.gif

HI Tag Team graphics-welcome-010883.gif to the tread.

Welcome to the club and God willing it will be dissolved soon (doesn't mean we wont keep in touch. :) ) About the removal of conditions I would take what ever comes first. I would pay twice that to have my husband home early and by my side. Also if you wait just about anything can happen I just wouldn't risk it. Take what ever comes first would be my advise, immigration doesn't deserve one cent, but you deserve your loved on. t4582.gif I agree, only prayer will get us out of they and we need to pray for each other to make this happen. How can God not hear our cries and see our bleeding hearts!

I agree and I pray the same for you and very soon God willing. Thank you for your good wishes and beautiful thoughts. :)t4582.gif

Thank you Solenta for the welcome and the words of wisdom. What you are saying is so true. I know life is hard for my hubby right now and sometimes hard for me when I have my moments when I am missing him so much. With his area being so unstable that is the only thing that has me thinking twice about my stance on ROC. Amen, I believe He does hear are cries. I'm just pray for strength for us all. I just have to smile and remember how one day this too will pass and My Love and I will tell our children about how we overcame this time in our lives. ......You're welcome. Forget about the first wives club, we should start our own immigration wives club or to be inclusive an immigration spouses club :dancing:

Everytime I see my name in a any post I see such heart felt wishes and I m so happy that I made good friends atleast in this horrible process. Thankyou people. Can't tell how much it means to me. I hope I don't disappoint u guys by getting a checklist instead if cc! Praying hard to hear something by Monday or Tuesday!! (L)

Just got back from work that's y replied late :luv:

Awww your so sweet, just love you girl and you could NEVER disappoint me! I agree the only good thing that came of this is the wonderful people I have had the honor to know through this process. Don't know what I would have done with out all you guys. Much love and hugs to you Samreen and to everyone old and new on this thread!!t5063.gif

May this up coming week bring lots of CC for those waiting especially Soloenta and Samareen !

Thank you my friend what a kind thing to say, love you girl! t5063.gif

Of course! (L) I hope you won't have to undergo AP. This unfair process of tearing up couples and families needs to stop

You are in my thoughts as well. I am really hoping for good news for you this week!!

PS: I LOVE coriander! :P:rofl:

Oh God yes I agree with you and am praying so hard we don't get stuck in AP after all of this but they don't consider this at all.

Wooooooooooo Hoooooooooooooooooooooo another Cilantro/Coriander lover :D t4582.gif

By the way I was fortunate to have a lawyer for the first part to get me through USCIS with no checklist for $500.

The only luck I had was getting through USCIS with no problems but them holding me back like they did most of us! I even sent them the paper work from the kittens we adopted in Egypt boy did my husband laugh at me for that one but hey it was and is valid. :Dt4582.gif

Another June, 2013 filer!? :wow: OMG! :wow: Sorry to hear that you've been waiting for a long time.

I'd wait until you have your 2-year anniversary to move to the US if I were you too! :star:

However, some people might argue that the opportunity cost of waiting to move to the US may be greater (saving $600 vs. moving to the US ASAP and getting a job and making more than $600). Well, nobody knows the future.

I remember reading a posting of someone spending $7,000 to hire a lawyer and getting a checklist.

Well that wasn't us but yesterday I sat down and started putting all our papers in a binder ready for our interview and I added up the lawyer invoices. Over $6,000 and what did we get for our efforts - a checklist for our AOS for mistakes that absolutely should not have been made. I reckon by the time this process has finished - and as we now have our CC it should be soon - the total bill, including travel etc. will exceed $20,000. That doesn't include the $20,000 we will pay to ship all our household furniture and goods back to the US.

Oh, No! :dead: $6,000 for the lawyer's fee AND you got a checklist!? :wow: I'm sorry to hear that.

As I recall, I think it was ArthurandMarcela who spent $7,000 and she got a checklist!

I hope it was at least in CAD (not USD): $7,000 (CAD) = $6,200 (US).
