As long as they get the package delivered to the correct address they don't care how it gets there really.

You will be fine, just double check the specifics like address, etc. Everything will be fine!

Hi Ryan,

I am at the same place as you, our AOS has appeared as Paid but no option for the IV fee yet. I'll follow your time line to see how you get on :-)

Maureen

FYI, I eventually got the option to pay the IV fee ($325) before I submitted my AOS (but after AOS was paid).

Just another data point...

I sent the AOS and IV packets in separate envelopes within the same package. Since I hadn't paid the IV fee I used the AOS cover sheet and wrote IV Package on it for the civil docs. It arrived at NVC on Thursday Oct 2. Coincidentally or not I was invoiced the IV fee on Friday Oct 3. The IV cover sheet has the same bar code on it as the AOS cover sheet.

This is what I'm doing... two envelopes in one package. Basically what I would have sent in individually with their respective cover sheets.

looks like this thread came back from the dead, so I'll give an update.

I submitted both AOS and IV Package at the same time after I paid the AOS fee but before the IV Fee was invoiced. The IV was invoiced a few days after the packages arrived and eventually I got case closed about 60 days later. Interview was yesterday. Seems all is good but he told my wife that he would need to review my AOS in more detail, but at first glance it seemed fine (I'm living abroad and using assets so I had to submit a lot of supporting documents and argue domicile)

As Frips said, do not wait for the NVC to review your DS-261. Just call them (after they will reopen, of course) and they will review it over the phone. This is what I did.

I-130 (as part of IR-5 process) - USCIS (Nebraska Service Center)

06/09/14 - sent I-130

06/14/14 - NOA 1

11/14/14 - NOA 2 (5 months)

AOS (Local Office: Denver)

03/24/15 - AOS packet sent via USPS Priority Mail (I-485, I-765 & I-131 w/ approved I-130)

03/26/15 - package delivered according to USPS website

04/01/15 - email notifying the AOS package has been received

04/02/15 - an AOS fee withdrawn from a bank account

04/09/15 - received hard copies of all three NOAs (NOAs dated 04/01/15)

04/28/15 - Biometrics

05/08/15 - online status changed to "Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview"

05/18/15 - online status changed to I-765 approved-wait the card in the mail (no change for I-131) (80 days)

05/19/15 - received EAD/AP in the mail

05/28/15 - online status changed to "As of June 28, case is ready to be scheduled for an interview." This is the second time of such change since 05/08/15.

07/05/15 - online status changed to "As of July 5, case is ready to be scheduled for an interview." How many times are they going to update that status, I wonder?

12/18/15 - still waiting!!! For almost 9 months now (261 days from AOS NOA, 234 days from Biometrics).

01/14/16 - submitted "out-of-normal processing time" inquiry and called USCIS that stated the case is still at NBC and "inquiry" should answer why there is such delay.

01/15/16 - 294 days since the AOS was received by the USCIS; 262 days from the biometrics.

01/28/16 - [day 309] received response to case status inquiry (processed on 01/23/15) - "your case is waiting to be scheduled for interview," so wait another 90 days [sigh].

02/21/16 - [day 332] interview scheduled for 03/24/16 [363 days from the receipt of petition].

02/24/16 - [day 363] AOS interview. Approval on the spot.

Frips how do NVC review the DS-261 by phone? I called and the only question he asked was: Who is the agent on the form? and I said my self. And he asked my DOB, and I told him. and he said that is it: And that the IV Bill will be generated in 7 days. Is that right????

Nyala, this is exactly what happened to me. I asked them when IV invoice will be billed to me. DS-261 needs to be reviewed for the bill to be issued and if I am an agent, they can review it right away. They asked my birth date (since I was an agent), stated the DS-261 was reviewed and I will receive a bill within 4-7 days. I have received it in 4 days.

Ok thank you OlenkaKyiv. I think I will be free and wait to pay my IV bill during my 60 day review.
