Ok so I am a bit confused now. On the NVC website it says that I should put "Attention: DR" and send my documents.

The AOS coversheet says Attention AOS. The rep told me to put whatever is on the AOS coversheet :|

Can someone who recently paid the IV fees (after the website update with the new process) tell me what it says for attention to?

I am inclined to follow their website as it seems to be the most updated

any suggestions?

And just think, those figures are undoubtedly pre-backlog. It's bound to be worse now. Last month I found a solicitation issued by NVC a couple of years ago to find a new contractor to provide its staff. It had quite a bit of interesting information, but processing statistics and workload type data are kept pretty strictly under lock and key. All the companies bidding for the contract had to sign an NDA before getting access to that data. I culled some stats mentioned in the Q&A for the bid:

The total number of public calls handled by NVC for 2011 was 2,089,657. NVC Basic Processing statistics for 2011 averaged about 714,000 per month. For quality assurance purposes, there is a cursory review of 5,400 cases and an in depth review of 1,000 cases every month.

and as someone who has worked in call centre environments for the last 10-12 years, those numbers make my head hurt!!!

I do QA for my current company (you know when you hear "this call may be recorded for quality purposes", that's me listening).... I see a lot of people complain about the service they get on the phone, the long wait times, etc (( and rightly so!! )) but having been on the other side, being the person who takes those angry, frustrating calls I tend to give those staffers a lot of credit for doing the thankless job they do!! It's no fun being yelled at a hundred times a day for something you have absolutely no control over

Well the lady sent the documents on july 20th but she didn't remember what she sent so by august 27th she fill out the ds260 and told my husband that she couldn't remember so we will have to send them again so she took our papers to get translated but 2 days after she said that she probably sent everything already so my husband call NVC and they said to him that everything looked fine so we had to wait but last week we got the case complete mail and appointment date

I found some interesting information about NVC (I won't post a link because I don't think I'm allowed because it was on another forum, unless I am allowed?).

The information was undated, and I don't know how accurate it is, but it said this:

- NVC has more than 400 employees

- They receive between 15,000-20,000 cases from USCIS per month.

- On any given day, NVC has around 2,000,000 cases on hand

That includes all cases, not just I-130. I know other cases are processed differently, but for the sake of my calculations let's assume that most require you to send in two pieces of mail, such as AOS and IV, and for half the cases a checklist.

That would mean that each month they receive between 37,000 and 50,000 pieces of mail.

There are on average 21 working days per month (excluding holidays), so that's between 1,761 and 2,381 pieces of mail per day.

No wonder they lose or overlook documents.

Until I get confirmation via phone call that my docs are scanned, any delivery and/or signature notice from a courier service means next to nothing to me, since it's certainly not a guarantee that the docs will get where they need to go. I don't like to imagine the hellscape that is the NVC mail room. I also went ahead and put our case number on every page of our checklist and IV packages, just to be on the safe side. I wasn't sure about writing on originals, so on those I used a post-it note. Better safe than sorry.

I wouldn't be surprised if e-mails got lost, too. I finally got a response this morning about an e-mail I sent August 5. Our embassy change is now under review, FINALLY. That took 30 business days/43 calendar days--a helluva lot longer than the first time we changed embassy not too long ago. I was just starting to get concerned that the e-mail had been lost. So people, call, don't write, if you need a response to a question and don't want to wait a month to get an answer. Only write if you have to (we had to because there's no other way to change embassy.) I bet half the e-mail backlog is from people asking questions that could be answered over the telephone. Use a smartphone app or Skype if you're abroad.

This tax return transcript indicates the form filed was the 1040. That means you need to use the Total Income, which is listed here as $4015.

Ps: I am actually thinking of taking my checklist to an immigration office to prepare it for me, I am confused, frustrated and about to break in tears and I CANT AFFORD another checklist!

I see there's a Schedule C for income from a business, and that should be included in the documentation sent to NVC, but refer to page 6 of the instructions for the I-864:

"For purposes of this affidavit, the line for gross (total) income on IRS forms 1040 and 1040A will be considered when determining income."

Honestly I have no experience with this type of income, but as the person's expenses nearly match the Schedule C income, I understand why the Total Income line is what it is. Hopefully someone who's been in a similar situation can come along with information, but barring that, I would recommend calling NVC and asking them directly if income shown on Schedule C will be considered although the Total Income is below the requirements. In either case, the Total Income line is the correct figure to use for that section on the I-864.

Hey samreen can you clear this what do you mean by there isnt chance of dec interviews?? Nvc doesnt schedule interviews in dec?What about people who get cc by november? I was hoping to get a dec interview...

I have never heard of no interviews scheduled in December. This 2nd round anomaly is just that. Not all embassies do it. It's something that has started about June this year.

The rule of thumb I have seen is to get in the queue for the next months round of interviews one needs to have case complete by the 15th.

Some embassies have rolling scheduling as in Karenberna who just got case compete on 9/10 and interview date same day. One never knows.

All you can do is wait and hope for the best.
