I believe the person mentioning passport photos for the USC filed AOS from another visa than K-1. For AOS from K-1, just 6 photos of the immigrant.

Yes Harpa, I did. Sorry for causing more confusion! :(

Ever since the age of digital photography dawned on mankind, man has forgotten the joys of printing the photos and discovering his eyes are closed in one of the cherished special moments pictures. Oh the joys of a bygone era!

Consider the filing of immigration forms a trip down the simpler times of late 90s and early 00s. You gotta take pictures and print :-) imagine the album you can make out of rejected passport size pictures which are wrong size.

Jose&Eli you are ok.

Look folks...if you are filing I-485, I-131, and I-765 TOGETHER....(2) passport style photos are all you need. We JUST did this, and everything was fine. No RFE...

Nope, while not everyone gets an RFE for this, some people have gotten RFEs for it. They ask for 6 photos in the instructions.

Yet.....

It is 6 as I believe that the I-485, I-131 and I-765 are separated when they arrive at USCIS. They are processed by different departments. Hence why each application has 2 photos with it.

Quite what they do with them, I've no idea as the photo used on my EAD and PR card is from the biometrics appointment.

We provided more than 50 photos and it probably overwhelmed him that after looking at each picture he said "I think theres no problem here, I will approve you." :) Just dump them with photos!!! They don't mind it anyway, and they usually ask for it.

We're discussing the passport style photos that you have to send attached to the application. I think you're thinking of the photos some people include to support the bona fide nature of their relationship.

No where does it say when filing all 3 forms together that 6 photos are needed. If your submitting separately then by all means...send 6, or hundreds!!!!! Either way do what ever makes you comfortable.

We know couples we became friends with who came here before us, and we asked them this very question before starting our AOS. All of them....2 pics. I don't know where they got their advice, but so far has worked every time. But, hey...I'm not the expert like some. I've only just been through this.

2 pics people...come on!!! This dead horse is beat!!! :jest:

GOOD EVENING!!! :)

Again, you are confusing normal everyday photographs with the passport style photographs required as part of the filing documentation.

Then yes, you need 2 per form, as I said above. Read the instructions, that's where it says.

Again, I challenge anybody to show me directions where it states when filing ALL forms together submit 6 photos?? These instructions don't exist. They do however exist when your reading the instruction for each individual form...yes send 2 photos.

2 pics work. Take it for what its worth. That's all I'm saying. I'm not the VJ police. I'm not on here like some...solely to refute someone else's advice. I just know what has worked for me, and in the past for others.

The instructions do not magically change depending on whether you are submitting them together or not. It is poor advice not to follow each form's instructions; they are not exactly difficult to understand. The instructions call for two for the I-485, two for the I-131, and two for the I-765, so that's how many you should include based on what you are filing.

This isn't rocket surgery.
