Got off the phone with 2 reps.. separate occasions.

they are saying my husbands original birth certificate was missing even though it was sent in and it was the right document.

she said she will have them review the document again, but it could take another 60 days to review... this is the worst.

im assuming a false checklist wouldn't include something that specific... i will have to have words with my lawyer...

I had a similar situation. NVC claims my 2013 tax documents were missing from my AOS package. My attorney claims she included them.

NVC gave me two choices:

1- Request a supervisor review and wait 30 business days for them to have another look for the missing tax documents.

2- Send another copy of the requested document and wait 30 business days for that to be reviewed.

I went with option 2. This time I sealed and sent the package myself. I'm afraid you're just gonna have to resend the document they asked for and wait for one more complete review cycle.

I'm the USC petitioner. My wife is British (now a USC!!!), generally awesome, and amazingly patient.

Hi everybody and congrats to all the CC!!

I am preparing package IV and this is probably a stupid question but how long a birth certificate is valid? I have one from may 2013, that would be ok?

Also I am seriously considering to send the package before paying the fee. NVC received my case July 1st, case number July 14th, and AOS fee on August 20 :(

I don't know why It took so long for the AOS fee but I am so tired of this all entire process. I know a lot of people has been waiting longer than I at USCIS (me "only" 6 months) but this is so frustrating... Anyway, what cover sheet should I put on my IV package if I decide to send it before paying the fee?

Thank you so much to everybody!

Caroline

Is really effective to send the IV package in advance? I would definitely do it too, but i would like to know the real advantages

i talked to NVC a few hours ago. They confirmed me not to open ds-261 once it is completed. This action resets the registration date. i insisted her about why is this that way if i did not either modify or resubmit the form again and I have a electronic confirmation with the original date. I specifically requested about what is my ds-261 registration date in the system. She barely answered my question and said that there was no date in the system for my ds-261. She told me again not to open it. I don't know what to think. This people tease us....anyways, lesson learned!

Maybe if you don't touch it again, they will set it back to the original since there is no date in the system....you might want to call them back in a few days to see if they have a date for it then...

Hi everyone, well we just got off the phone with NVC, and they said that our CASE IS COMPLETE!! :wow::dancing:

Apparently, case complete was on 8/25, although we haven't gotten any notification yet. We had given up on calling all the time, so I was shocked that it was actually complete! Maybe last week when I called NVC and yelled and complained to a supervisor about our case, NVC actually did something? Our DS-260 was sent in on June 3, but because they somehow missed receiving it (how do you miss an electronic submission to your website?!). So then it got sent for Supervisor Review on July 22...so I guess that's our official last scan date...it was approved without us having to provide any other info.

Good luck to everybody else going through this craziness...hang in there, mid-2013 USCIS folks...there is light at the end of the tunnel!

Congratulations to you!!! What a long wait! :):dancing:

Wait! I thought NVC told you that they were still waiting to review your DS-260 even though your lawyer filled it out a long time ago? So it turned out that you got a checklist on the birth certificate and that was causing the delay? :huh2:

Yes, I'd talk to your lawyer if I were you. It's possible that your lawyer forgot to include the birth certificate. If not, you can talk to a supervisor and have them review your package. It may be faster than waiting for another 60 calender days. Fingers crossed! :star:

thats what they did say!! so this is ultra frustrating!!!! so they did ask me to have my lawyer call and have him review it with them.

with the rep, we walked through to make sure what I submitted as the birth certificate was the right form, which it was ...

i will definitely push my lawyer

OMG what a nightmare I'm so sorry this happened! I don't understand how they lose things, what IDIOTS! I'll be praying this is fixed (found) soon. (F) (L) (F)

Thanks Soloenta!!! I'm praying too!!! this is so incredibly frustrating!!!

Even supervisor reviews are taking a whole month now!!! Unbelievable!

Glad it's behind you now. Just curious, your profile says Iran and your signature says Kuala Lumpur!

Please, tell me about the supervisor. Does he consider cases in less than 60 days? Or does he review cases at a certain stage of the process? We have the e-mail of 19 June "Please send everything else to nvcinquiry@state.gov (type "ATTN: PI Supervisor" in the subject line of the email). What does it mean? Or all applicants have similar e-mail?

Thank you.

Call again and ask what date your ds261 is on the system. They know the date . Unfortunately the rep. did not want to assist you properly.

I think (as was said above) that the birth certificate doesn't expire like the police certificates do. At least I've never heard of that!

I am also planning to send our IV package today. Tomorrow will be 30 business days since the DS-261and the rep I talked to last night said it should be fine and just to send it with the AOS bar code sheet. The only difference if you decide to send it is the address is ATTN: DR.

I'm hoping this works out as well as it has for a few others and maybe just the act of sending it will magically release the IV fee!!!

Wish me luck!

Good luck sending your IV documents earlier. Isn't the address for IV docs is also ATTN: CMR

The only difference is IV docs will say ATTN: CMR while AOS address said ATTN: CMR AOS

Please clarify. Thanks.

Hmmm... i sended my IV package last week and it had to be send to :attn CMR

i thought that DR was for the checklists, maybe someone else can confirm this ?

I hope those infos can be useful for others... And I wish fast cc to everybody!

That's what I thought too that IV documents have to be sent to ATTN: CMR

Maybe other people can clarify this for us.

demis346, do you have a scan date for your IV documents from NVC? I can see in your signature that your IV docs reached NVC on 08/25/14, but is your scan date different than that?

That's what I thought too that IV documents have to be sent to ATTN: CMR

Maybe other people can clarify this for us.

demis346, do you have a scan date for your IV documents from NVC? I can see in your signature that your IV docs reached NVC on 08/25/14, but is your scan date different than that?

Funny because i see more and more ppl that are told to send it to attn:DR , maybe this is a new route within NVC ...

Well according to DHL the package was delivered the 25th of august , havent called NVC yet but it takes 2 / 3 days for them to scan it into their system , i will call them next week for updates
