Hey Saylin, I hope you see this sometime. I accidentally submitted the new NVC form incorrectly (I put IV scan date when I meant to do AoS, I was scrolled down too far) so I clicked the edit button to hopefully edit my response but wasn't sure if it worked. Anyways! If I'm on your response sheet twice I'm sorry! The correct one is the one with just AoS and Ds261 info. >___<; Ugh, sorry for being a baddie.

DS-260 just became available and I just started, but I am already confused about what to do on the first page. It asks for the beneficiary's surname. Some fields are filled in my default from their records. They have her maiden name listed in there by default but her legal name is my last name. It says that the name must match what is shown in her passport. Her biographical data page shows her maiden name but there is a page next to it that has a legal official amendment to the passport stating that her surname has been legally changed to my last name. So in this case, which name should I use?

Hey! Just wanted to pop in and give you some speedy CC wishes. :)

Hi lucybelle! I just realized that you had finished the immigration journey about a month ago!

I hope you and your hubby are enjoying a new life in the US and everything is going well for ya. :star:

I'm waiting for a CC now. It's been a LONG month since it takes 30 business days (45 days) for NVC to review a package.

Netflix has become my best friend. Time flies when you're watching good shows. I'm getting hooked on "Breaking Bad"!

FINALLY got the invoice for my IV fees... WOOT WOOT!!!! :dancing::dancing:

I got the email at about 7:45 pm, obviously they weren't working at that time so somebody must have unlocked them earlier today.

SO I rushed home and paid the fees, now this is what my summary screen looks like:

CHOICE OF ADDRESS & AGENT (DS-261)

COMPLETED

AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT (AOS)

Role: Petitioner/Primary Sponsor

Affidavit of Support Fee: PAID

Affidavit of Support Documents and Financial Evidence: N/A

APPLICANT INFORMATION

Status: PRINCIPAL APPLICANT

IV Fee: IN PROCESS

IV Application: NOT STARTED

Civil Documents: N/A

So from what I understand, when the IV fee changes from "In Process" to "Paid" then I can complete my DS260, and when my Affidavit of support fee changes from "Paid" to "N/A" then it is a sign of a possible case complete.

From those who are farther along, are there any other signs I should be on the lookout for on this page?

SOOOO excited for things FINALLY to be moving again!!!!

congrats JeffNJazz !!!!

i got the invoice for my IV fees past night tooooooo ........ !!!!!!!!!! YaaaaaaaaaaYYYYY :dancing: :dancing: :dancing: :dancing:

when i woke up this morning the email was there and i went to ceac and paid it right away !!

now waiting for the ds-260 to open up !!

Hello all,

I've got yet another fun I-864 question for you all. I just can't crack this thing.

The joint sponsor in our case filed his taxes jointly with his wife. He makes enough money to support my spouse's case individually but his tax returns of course has his and his wife's income combined. Do I write down their combined income like it is on their tax return or can I write down his individual income? If I write down their combined income does his wife have to fill out an I-864a? What is the easiest way to go about this?

Thanks for any replies.

Sorry for the double post. I can't seem to edit my posts anymore.

I just wanted to add that I am referring to part 6 line 5 and 13.a.1-c.1 on form I-864.

Thanks again.

we were dealing with the same thing , and thanx to Saylin's help , we did the following.

we placed their combined income in the boxes ,since they filed together for the years 2013 , 2012 and 2011.

included their tax transcript for those years ,and the w2's from only our sponsor !

in the current income box we put only our sponsors income in there.

that way the sponsors wife doesnt need to fill out an I-864A , since your sponsor makes enough money to sponsor your spouse.

I got AOS and iv fees need to pay. I paid it. Do I need to wait for it to be updated as paid ? When I can find ds 261 or other forms available?

As soon as the IV bill changed to PAID, your DS-260 will be unclocked for you to fill.

Got our interview scheduled email on August 15th! I'm scheduled for an interview Sept 19 at 8:30am! Of course that means that hubby won't be able to come with me... and we're a bit worried since we were in Montreal for less than 24 hours this month (on our big road trip) and our car got broken into. Not a great impression of the city!

Oh well - now I can (hopefully) have a new, wonderful opinion of Montreal - the place I got to go so hubby and I can finally move to the US!

The trip is still underway (for those who don't know, my husband and I have been on an amazing road trip adventure since mid July - we went from Vancouver to Halifax (mostly through the US), flew to St John's Newfoundland for a wedding and back, and are now on our way back - we're in Brandon, Manitoba tonight - over halfway home!

Hope everyone is well and that NVC is starting to get their acts together!

Hi nightingalejules

Great to hear from you. I have thought of you guys often this past month. Hope you had a wonderful trip and feel refreshed after all the Visa pain. How exciting that you have an interview date as well. I am really happy for you.

For us, I am still here. Received AOS checklist - lawyer messed up. Scan date of 22nd July so should get that approved by early September. Then the expected checklist for IV docs for Singapore Police Certificate and they also want an original birth certificate as they don't like my adoption one which I have used all my life even used it for my previous Green Card but no, not his time. Luckily I met my birth parents when I was in my 20's so I have been able to get an original Certificate. Both those documents are on way to my house now so will then send to NVC. Hoping for a scan date of first week of September. So looks like we will be looking at a November or December interview. I so hope we are all back together for Christmas

On personal front broke my arm last week so everything is difficult but children have been fantastic and on a happier note I graduated University yesterday with a Bachelor of Sport and Recreation Management even though I have been working in that industry for a few years now.

Oh well, better go. Have a safe trip back home.

Hugs xx
